[ Made for @yoren ]
The familiar song played in her head for a while, in her dream she heard that familiar voice singing to her. The burst of light from the fires that the dyr would burst into the air, perfectly timed with the story and song. She saw bursts of red and black fur. Felt the softness of it on her fingertips. A freckled face appeared before her with a smile bright. She turned and more people appeared. A woman with dark hair and mismatched eyes. A blonde man who was swinging around a pillow to hit twin girls who were laughing and holding hands. A bare chested man, hand prints over his torso danced around a fire. A woman with curls as wild as hers lounged against a large lion. A bearded man sat with his hand on the neck of a large grizzly. A woman sat onto of a hippo not to far away, wiggling its short tail back and forth with great speed. She walked further through the people, children laughing and running past. A dark haired man sat smoking near his wagon with a gorilla by his side. In the distance, an elephant with a figure on its back approached.
Her chest ached greatly as she stared at them all, eyes moving back and forth, the memory of the sounds and story brought a sob from her mouth as she tried to move her hands. But found she couldn't. She looked down and saw red cloth around her hands, and then she fell when she tried to tag another step. With another glance, she saw a red fabric tied tightly around her legs, and it led back behind her. She followed it with her eyes, and it disappeared into the darkness. Suddenly, there was a great pull on it, dragging her closer to the darkness. Panic started to fill her as she tried to reach out. Where was Raiden? She looked around frantically as another pull happened. Dragging her back, pull by pull, farther from the laughter and song that she knew so well.
She turned over, trying to see what was coming. She was being pulled into the darkness, towards a cage. A metal cage that held a small figure in the corner, a genet shaped figure. She tried to call out to Raiden. But he never answered her. She screamed for him again, but no voice came from her throat. A figured appeared over her in the darkness. A flash of light from behind her lit the mans face, the man who had come in and attacked her. The one who had a spear plunged through him, and in her dream, he was holding that ruined spear over her. In a fast motion, he brought it down to stab her in the chest, and her body bolted up.
Kezia was panting as she looked around in the darkness. The wind was howling outside, she could hear the rain hitting the tent. She was shaking lightly as she remembered where she was. In Yoren's tent, bound and on his bed with Raiden. She twisted quickly to look at him, but he was already curling into her lap. His voice in her mind easing her as she tried to calm her racing heart. "Yo-" Her voice cracked. Her throat was dry and hoarse. She saw a burst of light in the distance... lightening. Fear crawled into her throat. It wasn't them. Surely Yoren would know that. That she and Raiden would not be the ones who had caused it. "Yoren?" She had to swallow a few times but eventually her voice started back up again.
