The Royal RAINECOURT Family of Nevermere
Julius Rainecourt III, the establisher of the royal family in Nevermere, valued discipline above all else. It was his belief that from discipline sprung every other thing anyone of sound mental constitution should desire: strength, reason, propriety, honor, and even freedom. This discipline wasn't simply in one's personal studies, but extended to the body and the mind. He was an unshakeable, bulwark of a man, and expected those around him--especially his children--to be as well.
Formerly Julius III, but now Cassian, although it could be argued that Julius is still head, even from the supposed grave.
Julius raised his son to be a king whose effectiveness would propel the nation, his daughter to be a princess whose accomplishments would win hearts, and his half daughter to be a courtier whose competence would secure his son's throne and buffer his daughter's influence. The royal children were allowed indulgent toddler years, until about the age of five, at which point the real training began. Julius himself oversaw Cassian's tutelage in the sword and in some of his academic studies. While he was less focused on Rowen, he did pay her just enough attention to assert himself as the object she should pine to please. As for Kennet, Julius allowed her father figure to do most of her upbringing until her older childhood years, at which point he brought her into much of what he did with Cassian, from court meetings to executions and the military planning in between.
While the family generally adhered to the cultural norms of maturity at 16, Julius expected his son to be a man at 13, and grew harsher with his daughters at the same age.
No child of Julius' was ever allowed or encouraged to even entertain the foolish notion that marriage was to be an act of love. Marriage is business. Indulging one's sexual desires was one thing, but actually placing the ring on a finger and publicly claiming a woman was only to be done with oversight, counsel, and always with the good of the kingdom in mind.
Cassian is the king and head. Kennet is the advisor, not only for the king but also for the princess (informally). Rowen's role as princess was to be that of a gentle, beautiful woman set close enough to Cassian that those who might be put off by him for whatever reason would still maintain loyalty to the crown as a salute to Rowen's graces. Malthace, their mother, had no role in their lives; in fact, she was hardly their mother in anything more than biological association and name.
Rulers of Nevermere.
Royalty, snagged by Julius many years ago. When Rowen marries, unless she marries royalty, her husband will be a noble as will her children.
LAND & WEALTH
The extent of Nevermere could plausibly be considered the Rainecourt's property. Beyond the castle, however, the royal family has a portion of beach and rocky crags that are private to them. They are also in possession of an expansive estate at the base of the mountain wall.

The royal Rainecourt family of Nevermere is a rather new establishment. Julius III married Malthace Rainecourt after killing her father and taking her throne (and attempting to marry her sister, who refused and was consequently murdered). Cassian was born 9 months later.
It should be noted that Malthace Rainecourt has been a husk of a woman ever since Julius III wed her. She carried her children and birthed them, but her role as mother in their lives has never been fulfilled. She spends her days in her room, staring listlessly out of her window. She would be dressed and attend events on Julius' arm, but her engagement with anyone and everyone has always been lacking, as if her soul died with her father.
