The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

This kingdom has moved from distant side dish to a dramatic main course in the world of Terra Nova. A big shout out to members Heather, Nix, and Darkest whose high activity has helped lead it through a renaissance into a new era!
Logan had never been particularly good at remembering all the things he should or shouldn't do. He'd already broken his one rule by sleeping with Alys and he couldn't find it in himself to regret it for even a second. When he was with her he was entirely focused on her, just her. His large hand wrapped securely around hers and he gave the woman at the front a polite nod as they left.
"Oh, I loved it," he said with a grin, "A very good idea to fight off the chill," he praised her. He meant what he said about next time, he would like to come back again.
They made their way back towards her home, out of habit he almost turned in the direction of his own place before he caught himself and soon enough they were in view of her house. "Would you like your gift now?" Logan asked with a grin.

A soft hum left her. She thought it was the perfect idea. Though now out in the cold, she easily moved into his side to try and gain some body heat from him. Her hair damp in some places from the bath. Which meant every burst of aid made her shiver just a little. But clearly not very bothered by it at all.
When he mentioned the gift, a smile formed on her face as her home came into view. Looking up to him with a bit of excitement in her eyes. “Yes,” she said with a light nod. He spoiled her, in her opinion. With time. With love. With gifts. Kirin being the best one still to date and she often found herself thanking him again for the red mare.
As her door came into view, she quickly unlocked the door and pulled him inside. Her eyes resting on him briefly before wondering back to the box. Not sure if he wanted to hand it to her or if she could just go over and take it.
Logan beamed down at her at her response and as soon as they entered the house he kicked off his shoes and made his way to the box, taking her hand to pull her with him. The box seemed much smaller than it really was in his large hands. His thumb moved along the edge of the box, feeling excited and nervous to show her. Norah had seemed confident than Alys would like it but they could both be wrong.
He hesitated just a moment before lifting her hand and placing the box in her palm. "Okay, open it," he said softly. When she opened the box she'd find blue stoned locket inside with a clear gem in the center and a gold chain. The stone had speckles in it that reminded him of the night sky and made him think about the first time she'd given him a navigation lesson. When she opened the locket she'd find a small painting of the two of them inside.

Alys couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as Logan tugged her along behind him. She already was in love with whatever sat inside the box. She didn’t even need him to open it or actually give it to her. It could have been an empty box for all she cared. He had thought enough to get her something. He was always going above and beyond for her. She almost felt like it was time that she really started stepping up her game.
The weight of the box was rested in her hand and she stared up at him for a few moments long. “I love it. Whatever it is.” And with that, she finally looked down at it and stared at the box for a few moments. Admiring it and the weight of it in her palm. With small movements, she opened it and instantly her whole body almost seemed to melt a little. Her shoulders easing as she stared at the locket and her breath was taken from her. “Logan,” her voice barely a whisper. Her fingers brushed over the dark blue front of it before she felt that it had a spot to open, slowly opening it as she peeked up at him.
And then she was staring down at her and Logan. The painting was immaculate and it looked exactly like the two of them. As if they had sat in front of whoever painted this and they had done it then. Within two seconds, she was staring at the locket, and then she launched herself into him. Her arms wrapping tightly around his shoulders and drawing him into her. Her face burying into his chest. “You are too good to me.” She said with a soft laugh. “I love it, thank you.” She said genuinely.
His gaze was locked on her as she opened up the box, eager and nervous all at once to see what she thought of the gift. His heart pounded in his chest as she lifted the lid and first peered down at the necklace. His smile widened, his dimples making themselves visible at his name whispered on her lips. He watched with eagerness as opened up the locket to see the image inside.
Suddenly she had thrown herself at him and he laughed lovingly as he wrapped his arms snugly around her. "I'm so glad you like it," he replied happily. "There is nothing too good for you. I'd give you the world if I could, Alys," he said adoringly.

A soft laugh left her. “Well its a good thing that I only require you then huh?” She teased back to his world comment. That sounded like an awfully hard task, and one that would take him away from her more than they had already been separated. More than the job of Captain Commander had taken from her already. And probably would take from her in the future. She was not naive to think that Cambria would be the last time he’d be away. With the moves that Cassian had been making for Nevermere, it was just the beginning.
Alys wiggled lightly in his arms and she nodded towards the boxed necklace as she brought it between them. “Will you put it on me?” She asked him, wanting to wear it and feel it against her skin.
Logan chuckled. "Oh yes, a very good thing indeed," he said with a smile. He would give her everything if he could but knowing that he was enough for her meant the world to him. He nodded and accepted the box from her, pulling out the necklace with his thumb and forefinger, letting it hang from his fingers. "Of course," he replied.
He moved behind her as he undid the clasp and then brought the necklace around her neck. He carefully worked to re-fix the clasp, not the easiest task with his large fingers but he worked with focus. Once he clasped it he lowered it the rest of the way onto her neck and his fingers slid up the thin chain, against her collar bones and over the sides of her neck before he let his hands drag down along her shoulders and he bent to place a kiss to the crook of her neck.

The swarm of emotions that ran through her all made her feel warm. Just as warm as his fingers were against her skin as he placed the necklace on her. Her hand coming up to brush against the closed locket and think about just how lucky she was that they had happened upon one another in the way they had. Despite the age difference, the status difference, and even their ranks within the military, they had found one another.
The moment she felt the weight of the necklace settle on her and his kiss to her neck, in very typical Logan and Alys fashion, she turned in his arms and was quick to pull him in. Her lips sealing to his, hands pulling him closer as she thanked him again without words.
