The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.
New gifted family of Lorendale added to the Families of Importance, the Decarlos!
At the beginning of February 2022 the site will experience a 5 year time jump! The IC year will jump from 822 to 827! This gives us about 8 months to prepare our characters for that jump. We plan to host very intentional planning sessions to help everyone get their plots and characters ready for this! As of this moment, one thing you should all start considering is making sure the threads your characters are in are furthering your character's stories.
It was a little be strange that the Queen regnant vanished in the middle of the night, despite not really a huge man of the gifted community and the fact that she brought the law of giving them as much freedom as she have done. Annabeth does hope that The Queen regnant is safe. She would hate if something had happened to her. Annabeth heard that the king of Nevermere was taking over till either the Queen regnant is found or when the Queen comes of age and take her place on the thorn.
Annabeth would like to meet him to see what thing he has in store for the good of the country, she know that she not the most powerful noble in Lorendale, she still want to make sure that certain that her country is in safe hands so Annabeth tried to see if she can have an audience with the King so she made her way to the palaces offices and got to the office in which she think he was on. She announced herself to the guards outside the door.
"Countess Annabeth Porter. I would like to speak to the King Regnant." Annabeth announced.

The study was new for Cassian. He'd always had one, of course, but since becoming regent he was given a larger one. There was more to do now, after all. This one could double as a sitting room, with an area to host guests and also more spaces for people to dump tedious amounts of paperwork.
Cassian had just entered, a witch stood by in the space with him, and his dark gaze fell over the contents of the room when a guard poked his head in and informed him that he had a visitor. Already? Cassian looked to the witch, then nodded to the guard. Annabeth would be let in.
The king turned, clearly unsettled in the space, and set his eyes expectantly on the women who entered, waiting for her to bow and make an introduction for herself.

Annabeth walked in and bowed her head towards her head. "Good day Your majesty, the name is Countess Annabeth Porter, I wonder if I can have a moment of your time about the situation with what happened with Queen's mother, which is very confusing for me and the running of the country," Annabeth explained where she was requesting to talk to the king.
Annabeth noticed that there was a female with him and she looked back at him. "Of course we can arrange a better time if at the time you are busy." Annabeth said slightly caught of good didn't really expect anybody else to be here with the King. Annabeth would have thought that the gaurds would of at least informed Annabeth if he was busy. Wouldn't they? Well that what she thought at least.

"Good day to you, Countess Porter." Cassian returned, dipping his head in respect of her nobility. His eyes moved to a space that would be ideal for sitting and conversing, and he opened his hand towards it, inviting the young woman to recline with him.
"Now is as good a time as ever for a short talk." The king allowed. The witch, who was there to guard him, stepped away, though she did not leave the room. It would be clear by how she kept her eyes down that she had no intention of being a part of this conversation. Before long they would surely forget she was even there.
Cassian settled onto a cushioned chair and fixed his dark gaze on the woman.

"Thank you, Your Majesty." Annabeth gave a small smile as she walked over to the area in which the king pointed at and sat down. Of course, Annabeth was slightly nervous about talking to the king full stop well any of the royals despite her nobility and being a courtier. Her job is basically be a companion to the royal household. "I am just wondering if we are all safe, is there anything you want me to help with? I want nothing but the best for the royal family and I am willing to help where I can. I know I have not been in court that long and I am still young. However, I do want to say I am willing to do anything to help to make the country safe." Annabeth said calmly but with passion in her heart.

Cassian could see the sincerity all over this young woman's face. It was a good reminder that not everyone had something up their sleeves. It was refreshing to see.
"I believe we are safe." He started, wanting to address perhaps the most importance thing she'd brought up: fear. The last thing he wanted was for the people of Lorendale to be afraid. "Our Captain of the Royal Guard was away at the time of the regent's disappearance, but he is back now. Nobody quite does the job like Marquis Tybalt Kane." He wanted to be sure there was no mistaking that reality. Tybalt was not to be held responsible for the regent's disappearance.
"As for how you can help..." Cassian considered this a moment, though he already had an idea, "I think being a loyal companion to her majesty the queen would be a service to your people. A monarch's life is a hard one, fraught with loneliness. Spend time with her. Remind her that you are loyal to her, and that you love her." He fell silent then, waiting to see how the countess would react and if she would agree with his suggestions.

Annabeth nodded when he mentioned the captain of the Gaurd. "I have only seen the hard work his guards do and seeing them around the palace I am glad to have them around and that I have nothing to worry about," Annabeth said softly. Like they are things she is scared of like she does try and spend times where they are guards are around to make her feel safe. " Marquis Tybalt Kane from what I have seen is a great man." Annabeth smiled softly.
When he suggested about what she could do to help Annabeth's eyes slightly with her blue eyes glisten with a bit of surprise. "Really? I would be honoured to be the companion to the Queen. I think she is amazing and all the pressure on her and I truly respect her for it and I be more than happy to try and help her out by her companion." Annabeth give him a small smile.

Cassian nodded his head, pleased that the young woman as partial to his idea.
"Well...don't tell her I asked you." He said, just in case the queen was not partial towards obligatory friends. Granted, likely every relationship in her life except the familial ones were obligatory, but its not as if she needed to know that. Then again, from his observation of Iliana, it was likely her friendship would be a sincere one. That was a pleasant thought.
Cassian folded his hands, eyes fixed on the countess, giving her an opportunity to say any last things before she departed from his new office.

Annabeth smiled and nodded. "I promise I will not say a word about this conversation to her." Annabeth said and she will truly try with all of her might to stick to her promise. Annabeth one of those people who if she promise something she with all of her might and will power will try and keep the promise even when it so tempting to go and break it for what ever reason that might be facing her at the time.
"Is there anything your majesty?" Annabeth thought she should at least ask before she leaves the office.

Cassian nodded, beliving that the woman truly would try to keep this promise. If it got back to the queen, however, it was no great thing. It was nice to deal with the little things like this sometimes. But only sometimes.
At her question, Cassian's eyes glanced to the side, and his head shook. She had come to his office to chat, not the other way around. He had no official business with her, and it seemed their informal exchange was at an end.
"Have a nice day, Countess Porter." He bid her as she exit.
