The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.
New gifted family of Lorendale added to the Families of Importance, the Decarlos!
At the beginning of February 2022 the site will experience a 5 year time jump! The IC year will jump from 822 to 827! This gives us about 8 months to prepare our characters for that jump. We plan to host very intentional planning sessions to help everyone get their plots and characters ready for this! As of this moment, one thing you should all start considering is making sure the threads your characters are in are furthering your character's stories.

The dragon again...
Tybalt's eyes would steel themselves as he fixed the woman before him. His eyes narrowed, searching for some sign somewhere that there might be a chink in the armor of the creature. "I don't abandon my friends." Tybalt informed the creature. His hands balled themselves into fists as he stood there, the bracers spreading around themselves so as to form themselves into what could best be described as gauntlets. "Raine, I know you're in there, that you can here me." He didn't, he was holding on to hope. What else was there? "I'm going to help you."

She laughed humorlessly."Yea good luck with that captain. The only help you e been at this moment was make her aware I exist. But never have I ever allowed her to see or hear me."
Then she pointed to his arms. "Nice new toys. Too bad they won't protect you from being reduced to ash. Just stay out of my way, and we won't have issues." She wouldn't mentioned that Raine still had enough control to prevent the dragon from actually attacking her friends. She'd just have to bide her time.

Tybalt grit his teeth. He knew that anger wouldn't be enough to make things right. It was tempting to try to fight the creature, to do what he could to try and beat the monster out of her and bring back her friend. "Let us pray that we never have to find out if they can." He didn't think he could stand a chance against the dragon but by the gods would he try if he thought that it would do him some good.
Now wasn't the time though. As such, he returned to a simpler tactic: "Give her back."

Again she laughed. Tybalt was extremely amusing to her. "Give her back? Why should I? So you can keep trying to convince her that everything will be okay? That you can save her? Sure, go ahead. Give her false hope. It's pointless."
She gasped and stumbled back. Raine hadn't been gone long enough to go completely unconscious. "What happened? It was her again, wasn't it? What did she say?"

He clenched his teeth. There were plenty of guards about, if a fight did start here, at least a few of them would be able to get to Cassian to warn him. With luck, the king could have summoned some of his witches to help and hopefully take her back. There would be an impossible amount of destruction in the meantime.
Then Raine was back, he would move forwards to move to grab her least she fall. "Yes. It was..." He wondered just how to go about this. "I'm not sure you'll be quite as fortunate next time round though."

She was breathing a bit hard, the whole switch and switch back causing the wind to be knocked from her. "What do you mean? What can we do? If this," she motioned to the parts of herself that remained dragon, "is because of her, then what if it's too late?"

Tybalt's eyes trailed down towards the dragon parts very noticeable on the human. The man didn't quite know what to make of that. All he knew was that they had to try something. "There are others who know more about magic than either of us could ever understand." The captain of the Royal Guard could only promise so much but he hoped that others would be able to help them.

Tybalt paused for a moment, thinking carefully. "Right now, all that I can think of is Cassian and his witches. I've seen them. They can perform miracles and the most terrible of acts. Hopefully they'll be able to find something in between that can help us before it's too late."

She hesitated. She knew nothing on Nevermere magic. "You can...talk to them, but I'm not going to make any promises right now." The dragon was pleased. It seemed her influence went a little deeper than she thought.

Tybalt shook his head, struggling to believe just what it was that the young woman was saying. "Raine... You can't let that thing beat you. Whatever you think, whatever it's telling you or making you think, no good will come from it." The man paused for a moment before adding. "You were willing to risk your life to save me, now give me a chance to try and save you."

"I shouldn't have to be saved. I should be stronger than this, but I'm not. But I also can't just accept help from a magic I don't know or understand. I have to know more about it. Besides...the last time I let someone use Nevermere magic on me I was the size of a kitten for a day.."

"You've been strong enough already." Tybalt assured her in a soft voice.
Tybalt raised an eyebrow at the woman's statement. "Now that, I would have liked to have seen." He pondered the matter for a few moments, content to leave it at that for a short while, wondering just when this had happened. "I'm not sure I want to know..." He spoke almost more to himself than Raine. "Cassian's witches are well trained, you can trust them. The only other alternative I can think of is going to Arynn Frey or Dresmond or accepting that beast is going to break free eventually."

"I...I don't know.. it might be too late already. But I can't let it just reek havoc and destroy Terra Nova. I'll try to let them try, but are you sure there's nothing else to be done?" Anything at all.

Tybalt looked away. "I-I don't know. I'm a soldier at the end of the day. This isn't something I know a lot about." Hence why he was eager to look elsewhere for assistance. "All I know is that you've got to keep on fighting. Maybe now that you know the dragon's there trying to gain control, you might be able to resist it? You must be doing so to an extent already." Now it really did feel as if he was clutching at straws.
