The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.
New gifted family of Lorendale added to the Families of Importance, the Decarlos!
At the beginning of February 2022 the site will experience a 5 year time jump! The IC year will jump from 822 to 827! This gives us about 8 months to prepare our characters for that jump. We plan to host very intentional planning sessions to help everyone get their plots and characters ready for this! As of this moment, one thing you should all start considering is making sure the threads your characters are in are furthering your character's stories.
Remiel was trying his hardest to balance his life at the Eldouir estate with his training and his duties as the new head of the Allemeade family, both had been strenuous so far but his unexpected visit with his dear little sister planted the seed of determination. He refused to fail now and couldn't wait to knock her smug comment right back at her:
'I don’t want to ‘run this show,’ Remiel. But It’s clear nobody is.'
Those words echoed for days, and the summer heat kept them at the temperature of boiling. However Remi had a few things he wanted to address about his family, but with the disappearance of Marjoline the previous Queen Regent Remiel was at a loss on where to go with his proposal for his family to reclaim the largest salt mine in Lorendale and several farms of theirs before the Gifted War. He went with the only person he knew Adelaide Teake .

Remiel would be let into the palace and brought to Adelaide's office. A hunky guard stood outside, but he didn't move to stop the man from entering.
Adelaide was within, seriously contemplating something on a piece of paper. She'd look up when Remiel entered, wave him in, and return to her consideration. Her office was prim and pampered, lavish with decorations, popping with color, vibrant with pleasant aromas, and even possessing of music--a blind girl sat in a corner plucking away at a harp. It was a picture of elegance.
Much unlike Adelaide.
"Dammit." She hissed, most unladylike, and slapped the piece of paper down onto her desk. "Why is it so hard to find a gifted who can track a person?"

"Should I come back," he gave her a considerate responsive tone and a warm smile, "Perhaps a break from you know," he didn't say it but he was hinting to the news of the vanishing regent, "I could personally use some Adelaide time."
Remiel set his project documentation in an unoccupied chair and offered her a hug. She looked like she needed it.

"No, no, don't leave." Adelaide said, sighing through her words, tired of this search, tired of herself. She'd roll her eyes but approach, letting Remiel's strong arms fall around her thin frame. She didn't hug back, but she'd certainly accept a show of comfort. She had never felt so alone in her entire life. It was only once he was holding her--assuming he did--that she would wonder how long it had been since she'd slept with a man. Too long.
"What's that?" she didn't point but her eyes moved to what he had placed in the chair.

Remiel did hold her, he felt she needed it, she had a lot happen lately that would have broke most people. Adelaide Teake wasn't a normal "people" nor just any other woman. She held a bit of a comfort zone for Remiel but that changed when she inquired about his work. He felt guilty about bringing any of this to her at a time like this, but he had and maybe the distraction was needed?
"I've been working on some things for the family," he grudgingly let go and grabbed the first of his presentation, he also didn't share anything about Bryce being gone or that he was head of the Allemeade family, "I was asked by Bryce to look into a few things, it's in regards to the old salt mine and what I would need to do about getting that back...for the Allemeade's."

Adelaide sighed a little upon discovering the nature of Remiel's papers. Land. Requests. How tedious. She let him go and rolled her eyes.
"It's all about land and money and wealth with you people, isn't it?" She was one to talk. Of course, it was easy to see the flaws in others and not in the self. "Aren't your Allemeades living with the Eldouirs? Is it too stuffy there? Or you--you have a farm of your own? Why is that not enough?" She flopped down into her chair at her desk.

Adelaide, slumped as she was in her chair, continued looking up at Remiel with a not so subtle pout on her face.
"It's an obsession, Remiel, and it should stop. The gifteds of Lorendale cannot start living as equals to the nongifteds as long as we're still clinging to the past and to what we need to reclaim. Just," she threw a hand out lazily, "stop. Focus on here and now. Focus on the fact that there was a gifted regent on the throne, calling the shots. Focus on the changes Marjolaine made for the good of our people. Press into that. Seize it. Embrace it. We can rule Lorendale, and all you see before you is a salt mine."

Remiel took a moment to listen and really study what she was saying, "Okay," he gathered up his collection of work on the salt mines and he would see someone else about them but he laid the other in front of her, "Then maybe this will be better, a school for the gifted. For those like us," should she look at it she would discover that Remiel was willing to donate even more of his land to the crown for a school, "Because normal people still fear us, what we can do and what our own limits are, uneducated non-gifted agitators whisper all the time about current affairs," it was also his very own blue print of the entire layout of the potential building, "Maybe if we have a place to guide our younger gifteds with the use of their gifts it would make the non-gifted public see more than....weapons...the alternative is Hiram Eldouir and his methods."
Remiel respected Hiram and had even went to train with him, but his sisters visitation and her words that painted another side. Hiram could produce warriors and combat abled gifteds, but what about others with weaker gifts? The ones Hiram saw as unfitting? Or gifts, like his own previously, that could benefit the kingdom other than as weapons. He had helped feed the kingdom of Lorendale for a long time and now he was going to be a weapon.
"A school to help build and understand, something that could quell future fires. I don't want to rule, I want to live peacefully and without another gifted betrayal. If that isn't what this sounds like, I apologize."
Remiel looked at the open door thinking about leaving but instead he remained. Hopeful.

Adelaide tugged half-heartedly at the proposal Remiel set before her, sharp eyes scanning what he had written. It seemed well thought out and doable. But she had concerns.
"So to integrate gifteds into Lorendale society you want to separate them?" Clearly she was asking the question to bring to light her criticism of the idea. "I understand the motive, but what of the gifteds that don't want to learn their gifts?" She raised a brow, and he would know from their time together as children that she was one of them. She had never trained, and was rather lacking in proficiency when it came to creating barriers. "What of the gifteds that was to be seen as normal and go to preparatory school with the other, non-gifted girls?" She sighed and laced her fingers.
"I guess what I am saying is that I am concerned that if we put too much emphasis on the difference between us and them that they will never unsee us for what we are capable of...and I fear history will repeat itself regardless."

"I...hadn't thought of...any of that," Remiel admitted before sinking into a chair kindly defeated, "I'm not much for politics it seems," he rubbed at the bridge of his nose thinking about all of her comments and they made sense, perfect sense, this was a bit of a dumpster fire.
"I'm sorry Ade, I thought maybe I was on to something," he was looking at her with a weak smile, "But at least I'm getting to see you, that pretty face could brighten any man's day."

Remiel didn't stop nor restrain or even hint that he was going to stop Adelaide, the old Remiel would have maybe or he would have been awkward enough but new Remi Remy? Never.
With her in his lap Remiel placed both of his strong and large hands on her each of her hips, with a strong yet gentle pull he would pull her closer looking into her brown eyes with his Allemeade blues. The seductive smile plastered across his face was his answer but yet he still replied, "....maybe I have," from a single plant grew an extended part of a root that's only sole purpose was to make contact with the open door and shutting it.

Adelaide was pleased with his reception of her. She leaned forward, submitting to his pull, doing well to grind herself against him as she did so. Their faces were close now, their lips but a breath away.
"You definitely have." Adelaide assured him, and then, to remind him, she would move her head forward, seeking to place her generous lips onto his in a slow, seductive, smooch that would only last long enough to make him want more before she withdrew her head.

That kiss, Remiel had received this kind of Adelaide kiss when they were goldie-lusting teens sneaking off for hot and heavy hooving about. Only now Remiel wasn't some sheltered and timid farm boy burning up from seeing a pair of exposed breasts, when she pulled back Remiel let a little growl of lack of satisfaction before put a strong muscle toned arm of support under her bottom and lifted them both out of the chair. If she wrapped her legs around his waist and arms around his neck Remi would use his other free arm to clear them a spot on her desk.
He would help her clean up after.
He sat her down and would match her passion with his own kiss this time, but he wouldn't break it like she did but instead he found one hand just at the base of the back of her head as the other remained in her hip pulling her waist into his grinding pelvis area. Nibbling her lip with a playful bite.
