Reputation: Diogenes is a philosopher and a magic worker. He is also, depending on who you ask, categorically insane.

As one of the eldest members of the Blackwood family, he has been around for years, seeing much and observing all he could. He has as well influenced many things: thinkers, enchanters, politicians.

Diogenes has spent his life on two things: magic and philosophy. He's learned voraciously, consuming as much knowledge as possible, arguing with anyone who would talk to him and making very few friends as a result. Diogenes has always strove to be as learned as possible at all costs.

Most people believe Diogenes was born a grumpy old man with a bad attitude towards almost everyone he comes in contact with and really, no one tends to bother to think of him in any other form.

Combat Experience: Along his long life, Diogenes has trained to competence with a number of weapons as well as hand to hand combat; though he has not had to use these in more than training or the occasional disagreement with other philosophers. Or bar fights.

MAGIC
Diogenes is a master of Shrine enchantments.

Diogenes has also invented a specific Shrine enchantment, years ago, out of a spat of a disagreement with another philosopher on the nature of man. It is a small ring which, when passing a poult or other fowl through, will defeather it entirely.

Tale:
Diogenes Blackwood was born ages ago a bare decade after his brother, Cicero.

As with many younger siblings, Diogenes too umbrage to being thought of as 'lesser' and delved deep into studies, earning his enlightenment at age 16 and immediately working on the use of souls for enchantments, helping move the field along. As he grew older, so too did his thirst for knowledge and contempt for others. When not driving himself to further the science and understanding of enchantments and souls, Diogenes studied anything he could get his hands on, taking the spirit of Arynn Frey to heart. He learned philosophy, mathematics, law: anything that was written in a book or could be taught by a teacher.

Being enlightened at such a young age and contributing to almost every field of study in which he could (whether said field's experts wanted him to or not) earned him the name Blackwood within a few years of inflicting his personality and genius upon other experts in the fields he invaded.
