The Path
ABOUT
The Path began as a support network in the aftermath of the Eldouir Trial and Exodus with the rise of anti-Gifted tensions and discrimination. Initially, it directed Gifteds towards shops that did not discriminate and assisted with helping Gifteds train and work with their Gifts. Over the last 5 years it has evolved into an organization that focuses on helping Gifteds by providing resources, safe houses, medical care, and training for Gifteds.
However, as tensions have worsened thanks to the deaths of Gifteds and non-Gifteds alike, a group within The Path have taken to more vigilante work. The Guide (Mersea) found out and instead folded them in, giving them direction and support. With them, The Path has branched out into more information gathering, investigating anti-Gifted activity, liberating falsely jailed/imprisoned Gifteds, and even rescuing abused Gifteds.
As a whole, the organization has adopted the use of secret symbols that are discreet to point Gifteds towards safe houses and resources if they can't make it to the Orphanage or need to get out immediately.
Overall methodology is discretion and subtlety.
Dynamic
Guide
•Head of the Path, oversees work with training gifts and the orphanage (Mersea)
Librarian
•In charge of keeping track of reliable resources, safe houses, coordination of symbols and meanings for discreet directions to safe houses (Zanny)
Coordinator
•Tracks and verifies information, makes sure things are accurate and distributes it accordingly
Operator
•Medically inclined (but doesn't need a medical based Gift), in charge of medical care
Mouser
•On the ground operations: rescuing abused Gifteds, springing gifteds from unlawful jail, investigating anti-gifted activity, etc. (M'Baku)
Mice (unlimited)
•Work mainly for the Mouser but the name applies more or less to anyone involved in the more vigilante side of "The Path", distributing food/supplies to safe houses, messengers, information gathering, etc.
Characters involved are not from FOI families. This is a very grassroots/common folk movement based out of an orphanage as a cover. All ages can be involved and all have some sort of connection to the orphanage as a former resident, worker, or current resident (unless you have another idea, in which DM me). Characters involved are working outside the law so please keep that in mind.
* I know most members, including myself, do not currently qualify to make a gifted character under the character creation guidelines. Stay tuned for an announcement at the beginning of March… 😏 -@eloell
