The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Perhaps they would have to see about sending scouts into Dresmond on their own. The royal family was certainly not usually up to sharing their information with outsiders. At least if there was an issue with Dresmond, it was highly unlikely that it would have the name Rainecourt attached to it.
He leveled a look at Calli after her question, "I made a friend, sure. It was mostly a relationship of necessity." He grimaced then, a haunted look crossing his features. "Unlike you, I did not have an enjoyable time away from home. It was just an assignment from Cyrus." If he thought of it as anything more than that, he would like fall to a guilty conscious over it. As such, he knew it was imperative for them to keep the Rainecourt's in check.
Calliope regretted that question the moment she caught the look from Keion, before he even spoke. Unfortunately, she was bad at apologies, and that certainly didn't help matters either. She wasn't the verbally decent sibling, but she could try to offer comfort in her own way.
"Well, guess we'll have to give you other things to focus on. Better things. Like the fact one of my new recruits somehow botched an enchantment that wound up giving her bright blue hair for a week. And that wasn't even remotely close to the what she intended!"
A bark of laughter escaped Keion, followed by more chuckling and shaking his head back and forth. It erased the sadness from his face and lightened the weight on his shoulders a bit. A knowing smile remained on his face as he said, "I'm surprised you didn't ask them to purposely give you the blue hair afterwards."
He leaned further back into the couch, relaxing once again in the presence of his sister and the familiarity of home. There would certainly be much to do in the future, but for now he was content to throw verbal jabs back and forth with Calli and enjoy the drinks and food she had brought with.
