The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Verula shook her head at the prince, nerves starting to show as she absently started picking at one of her fingernails. "No, no. I'm not injured, Your Highness. But thank you." There was a creeping guilt starting to build as she told him about what little she knew. Because she didn't even consider seeing if there had been anyone else in the rooms along hers. Hadn't tried to see if she could take anyone else with her. She had only focused on herself and her work, no one else.
"I didn't see them- I was in the workroom I was given below deck- but I heard them when they hit the ship with something. Enough that the ship shuddered and then-" She continued with her description. Things she heard and the assumptions she made based on that. Using that one hidden hatch and slipping out through the water.
And she kept picking at her nails and the skin around them the whole time.
Shrine Magic
Akagi wields a saga enchanted naginata, that when touched allows the wielder to cast bright red orbs that explode on contact. Akagi can cast single orbs or produce up to four orbs in a powerup to cast at once for a bigger explosion.

Akagi was highly concerned but the lack of details about the attackers was extremely daunting, he shifted nervously where he stood a hand lightly playing in his goatee.
"And you were the only survivor? Do you happen to recall the enchantments onboard? The ships themselves? Who would be so bold to attack Arynnite ships? Coheed comes to mind but that would mean Nevermere doesn't have quite the grip as expected," Akagi was thinking, questioning, and answering himself out loud as he twirled about on his facial hair, "Could it be the Eldouir to the south of us? Finally testing our grit in the scheme of things?"
Finally content with his thoughts he snapped out of his prattling, "Misses Verula, I must insist you take advantage of one of the palace healers and be ready to perhaps speak with the Queen, see to it she has a room for the time being," Akagi instructed a nearby slave, "Keion if you will look into acquiring anything you can about this expedition, I will go and bring this to my Mother...unless..." Akagi left it open for perhaps other ideas but in the end Akagi narrowly avoiding the hot seat already and he wasn't going to keep this from his Mother.
Keion had stood silently by Verula, watching her and Akagi speak. He had noted the way Verula played with her hands, how obviously nervous she was to be speaking at the moment, but he refrained from interfering or reaching out to her while in the presence of the Prince.
Once he was addressed, he bowed slightly, "Of course. I will head to the docks and see if anyone knows anything about missing ships and crew members." Then he looked to Verula, his gaze softening just a bit, "I would encourage you to do as Prince Llewellyn says and make use of a healer here. If you are okay to stay, then I shall go visit the docks now while you are being treated and return to walk you home in a bit?"
"I don't recall much of what the expedition was to be, though the ship I was on was one that could fly. I didn't pay much attention to the rest of the enchantments outside of the captain's and navigator's equipments that I was sent to inspect, possibly replace or upgrade if it was possible."
Verula looked between the men, lingering a little longer on Keion. In the back of her mind, she could feel some of the fight-or-flight seep away as she recognized that she was home and tiredness started to creep into the spaces that the tension had left behind.
"Alright. I'll see the healer and wait for your return." Her attention refocused on Akagi, bowing to the prince. "Thank you, your highness, for the healer."
