The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
It was interesting that this was one of the soldiers first traveling jobs. That was good news. She didn't know a lot about their fighting styles or Cambria itself. Good. "Well if you ever need a tour guide it's a beautiful place." Especially away from the stupid stupid Nevermere men and their gross... buildings.
Her trident twirled, clanging against the sword her opponent was wielding. Her strength tatoos made her a difficult opponent, especially without magic involved. "A little bit of Nevermere, and an unfortunate amount of Coheed." Laughing she looped the trident back down towards Faylin's legs.
Lightly dodging back and away from the trident aimed at her legs, Faylin bounced on her toes a bit to reorient and center herself. "Your kingdom's relationship with Coheed is certainly an interesting one," she added before she pressed forward in an aggressive attack on Revna, her sword flashing through the air in varying, calculated swipes. If Revna parried them, she would continue to press her attack.
"Does that mean you have children?" she managed to ask between her attacks.
Revna nodded her head as they moved. "It's strange, but it keeps us strong, we're a group of all woman so it would be hard to continue on otherwise." That didn't mean she wanted to participate anymore than she had previously. Moving with a deft rhythm she had often practiced, the Cambrian parried the attacks as Falyin advanced.
"I have a son, so he went to Coheed." Someone well versed in Cambrian culture would know she should have more than one at this point in her life, but she wasn't going to explain herself to someone who would never understand. Neveremere didn't understand, so this soldier certainly couldn't either.
She was finally starting to breathe a bit heavier, still unable to find an opening or weakness to exploit in Revna. Perhaps if she had her Naginata, but with the sword it was all she could do to keep the trident from taking her out.
"Do you not miss your child?" she asked hesitantly, unsure of the line of questioning. She certainly was not one to understand motherhood, especially for a kingdom so different from Nevermere.
Revna was paying more attention to how the witch was moving then the fight itself. She had essentially been training with various weapons since she could walk, so it was muscle memory in some ways. But that didn't mean she had nothing left to learn, far from it.
Snorting derisively she looked up to realize that had been a genuine question, dialing it back a little. "It is my duty to give strong daughters, but it's not an enjoyable process. And then all for a son?" The irony here was her own mother wanted only boys, and here she was hating it.
"So no, I don't miss him, he was never mine." The truth of the matter. Daughters of Cambria and Sons of Coheed, it made sense and there didn't need to be some third party running around making a mess of things.
Faylin clung to the thread of conversation, wondering if she could get any useful information out of it. She moved forward, slashing at Revna's trident, aiming to get her sword caught between the prongs so that she could try to wrench the weapon from Revna's hands.
"And what of the sons born from a Cambrian and a Nevermeran? Surely with soldiers being stationed here at all times, there has been some... mingling. Would you still send them to Coheed, or send them back to us?"
Revna took Faylin's move as a chance to push backwards and away as she asked her question. It wasn't something she would talk about with strangers, especially one from Nevermere. It also made sense in some ways what she asked. Of course they were trying to take things away from Cambria, next thing would be the daughters, she was sure of it.
"I don't know, you should ask one of the Cambrian women with many children." Feign ignorance. Faylin wasn't going to get answers that easy from her, and she was starting to tire of this. "Well I've probably disturbed you enough, it was nice to meet you."
Faylin took her own step back as Revna disengaged, still holding her weapon at the ready in case it was an attempt at a trick. But no, it seemed Revna was calling their spar over and rather abruptly at that. Faylin made a mental note, though ensured her face remained neutral. Clearly, the topic of children from Nevermere was not one Revna would speak on.
Faylin lowered her sword slowly until it was evident Revna was really done with the spar and nodded her head once, "It was no disturbance, I truly enjoyed our spar today Revna. Anytime you want a partner, feel free to find me. Enjoy the rest of your day." Faylin nodded her head once again and then stepped away, heading back towards their home.
