The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
"Former Chief, he is the Master of Sea," Eowyn was rambling and it was apparent she had a crush on Rael, "He has some nice boats and his little weird sound buddy the loud mouth, whatever the point is Rael would be perfect...but I don't think he's much interested in taking a new wife," she sighed and shrugged, "As long as it isn't a marriage to no foreigner I'll be perfectly fine with that, Nevermere men are boring and not really powerful, I could easily take one in a fight," she was confident in that, she had to be.
Miriel was glad to see her sister excited at the prospect of marriage. Sometimes she worried some of these new thoughts with the Parabolti would leave impressions on the youngest that marriage was just a small thing in her life. It was anything but though, her marriage to Izen was the thing she worked the hardest for, Kell the reason she trained with her sisters. Still a man out at sea all the time seemed a tough marriage, and she hoped it wouldn’t mean Eowyn going far away for long periods.
”Father surely wouldn’t. He only deals with the best and none of the Nevermere men are best.” Her nose wrinkled at the thought, but she was sure of her father as she had been taught. He was a wise man and surely it would mean a good match. ”Enned here would easily best one of their soldiers alone.”
"I'm going to call them War Dogs," she was glad for the kind of subject change her smile growing as she looked at Enned who was looking at her, "Something about a dog is it doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, show it loyalty and love...," Enned barked which made Eowyn smirk, "And food....a dog will give that back. Which made him so easy to train but we could always do more with them, they can hunt, track, and kill. Remember that bobcat? Enned..."
Her eyebrows raised in surprise as her sister talked about the dogs. She was so knowledgable it was astounding, something she truly admired. The only things she knew about were how to be a wife, a subservient woman of Coheed. And here was her sister, able to make a name for herself to make her the perfect woman. "That's amazing Eowyn! They'll keep us all safe from the red-hair." A shiver ran up her spine that she shook off, looking at the amazing dog instead. "How are you so brave sister?"
She looked between her sister and Enned as she thought about Miriel's question, it wasn't something she had to really think about either, "I'm brave because my Mother is, always has for her daughters, so I refuse to let those brave moments between her beatings and smiles for us go to waste. We deserve better than we've ever been given..."
Her mother. Miriel wasn't sure she could ever be the commandeering woman her mother was. Inflict the marks on her own daughters that she had endured? It was one of the reasons her pregnancy scared and excited her. One of the reasons she had often wished her mother hugged her and loved her like Eowyn's mother had her. Maybe she could be more like that, encouraging, but despite Izen being the man in control her mother's leash didn't feel gone yet.
"I suppose." Change, something she had been taught to fear. "But enough serious talk, let me make you something to eat?"
Suddenly her stomach grumbled as did Enned's his head snapped up as if he really understood, "yesss," she whined clapping her hands together, she was waiting for the offer because Eowyn could eat she in fact loved food. Enned barked, "so would he evidently," she giggled.
Laughing as Eowyn's stomach growled she nodded her head, although not entirely sure what Enned needed for food. "Hopefully he isn't a picky eater then." Miriel loved to cook, it was, according to her mother, one of the few things she knew how to do right. Unfortunately it didn't seem to impress her husband, not that it was surprising or anything. "Have you been finding time to practice all the fighting stuff for the Parabolti?"
Eowyn laughed patting Enned on the head, "The question is, what won't he eat?" the dog barked as if agreeing with his owner which made Eowyn roll her eyes.
"Every day," Eowyn sounded braggy, "Mom says I've neglected to many duties because of it but," even talking about it lit up the young girls eyes, "it's all I can think about anymore! The day @catrin steps aside I want to be good enough to lead us...that's my goal."
Miriel laughed, nodding her head, glad she didn't have to do anything special for the dog. Especially since she hoped that sometime soon she'd be able to get one for herself.
"Everyday?" No wonder she was so far behind her other half-sisters. It was insane, and certainly not something she had the time for. She had to cook, clean, keep the compound in good shape. Certainly her sister wife wasn't going to, but maybe she could put a little more effort into it.
Miriel was pretty sure the day Catrin stepped down would be because she was actually just dead. The woman seemed unstoppable when it came to fighting. "You'll have plenty of time. Our dear sister is just hitting her stride." As much as she hated when the Parabolti leader looked down on her, she was what Coheed needed.
"Everyday," Eowyn confirmed and rolled her eyes, "Catrin's only problem is she's kind of a ass about things: especially towards you and honestly that pisses me off," she shrugged her shoulders though, "but you are right she's doing fine, it'll be better when we aren't cowering to men still but she's tough. Im hoping she talked to Kaalim about our dog idea."
Miriel smiled at her sister, knowing that it would be easy to ask her to fight her battles. But that would probably only make Catrin more mad, and exactly the opposite of the point. "I've taken much worse, and she's not exactly wrong, I do need the practice." Didn't mean she had to be cruel about it but here they were.
"I'm sure she did! Would only make sense. It's a fantastic idea." Add to the offensive, also maybe give her a chance to get past her fear.
