The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

After their plan. So much more, she truly hoped so. She hoped that their defiance act they were planning would show that they were not untouchable. The gifteds. That they had long over stayed their welcome (not that they were ever welcomed), and that Dresmond was telling them to start packing their things. That the children were to be left alone and saved.
His mention of the caravan trip brought a sad smile to her face. “I’d love that.” She whispered to him. She missed her small wagon. She missed the horse that pulled hers. She missed the bonfires and dancing and singing. She missed Jaskier and Clementine. She missed her brother, now without a dyr and somewhere out there. She had missed Ermir and Ciel. And now she had them.
“We might need a name for our new caravan. I don’t think Adoi or Rashai will fit all of us really.” Her fingers played with some of his beard along his jawline. “And perhaps we don’t split into four this time.” Even if the elements didn’t always compliment one another…
Kezia wasn't the only one who missed the caravan life, but that went without saying. Maybe not everyone shared the same view anymore, but a majority of the Dresmondi surely did. Otherwise there would have been little to no point in this little adventure.
Stroking her cheek he liked to think about this imaginary future. He knew that for now that's all it was, but they were working hard to change that. And so they would. "I'd like that, all together, helping each other. Stronger together."
Ermir tilted his head, leaning his forehead against hers. "Maybe we don't need a name for the caravan. No labels has always been our way."

He was sharing in the illusion she was trying to paint for them with her words. The closeness of him and the familiar lines of his body were something welcomed against her. Even with his forehead resting against hers, he was overwhelming in the way that she wanted him to stay overwhelming. His warmth, his voice, the way his chest rumbled when he spoke, the strong and steady hand around her waist and against her cheek.
"No name. Just Dresmond." She agreed. They had been separated for a long time now, and just being Dresmondi sounded like heaven to her. "Ermir," she opened her eyes, keeping the closeness but wanting to look at him. Even if they were so close that she could only focus on certain points of him. "Would you share my wagon if I got one?" She said with a bit of a laugh. Hypothetical as it was. "Not all the time," she was quick to say, assuming he'd want his own wagon. "But some nights..."
Just Dresmond, it had a nice ring to it. Everyone united, maybe that's what could pull them all out of this deep hole they'd fallen into. This hope and this feeling with Kezia was certainly helping make him more sure. Sharing in hope was quite intoxicating.
Smiling softly and looking at her as she spoke, Ermir raised an eyebrow, a ridiculous looking grin on his face. "Well, as long as I can fit inside, consider me there." Tucking her hair away from her face, he couldn't help but to try and pull her closer. "Whenever you want Kezia." He couldn't imagine her leaving again in those moment, wrapped up in the beautiful fantasy they were creating.

A soft snort left her, shaking her head but not really getting much back and forth action as his hand started to tuck her hair behind her ear. Stilling her as he pulled her closer to him, her arms tightening to hold him closer to her, chest flush against his. “You are so large, did you even fit in your own wagon really?” She teased. Picturing his feet hanging out of it but she knew it really didn’t.
“Good,” she sealed his words to her. Whenever she wanted, “hope you are prepared for many visits.” Her nose nuzzled to his cheek before she pressed a kiss there. “And then many bonfires and dancing. Laughter and many, many kisses.”
"Got it extra long just for sleeping." Laughing he was glad to joke about things like this, especially since it was with Kezia. He had spent many a night with his feet dangling outside of her wagon, and he would do it again in an instant.
Bonfires, dancing, spending late nights with Kezia? It didn't feel so far away as she kissed his cheek. "You'll teach me all these fancy dances." Tilting her head up Ermir leaned in to kiss her lips. "And I'll build fires for everyone to gather around and celebrate."

Something about his words, the final ones, brought tears to her waterline. A bonfire for everyone. All of their people coming to celebrate. She nodded, and with a sad, soft gasp of air, she closed the distance between them. A few tears spilling onto her cheeks as she kissed him with a longing and desperation.
She’d think about this moment often on her trip. About their dream, the why behind her agreeing to what she did. Because she had to believe this dream was achievable for them. If she didn’t, why else fight? Why else risk their lives and others if it was for nothing? They had hope that this would be better and if she needed to get lost in him, to be reminded, she would take that trip with him.
Kissing her cheeks to wipe away the tears, Ermir wasn't sure if they would all survive the tribute, but was at least glad they would be doing it together. The Claw all together and standing strong. His lips on hers, their bodies tangled in the watery depths, his hopes soared.
It only added to his confusion later, not at her leaving, as it was what needed to be done. But later, after finding Nikita and the realization settling that he still needed to have something to present. The future they had dreamed and hoped for seemed so far away in Elderkeep. Far from their plans, far from those he had come to rely on. He couldn't give up, despite the guilt that drove him towards the idea.
But it wasn't a glimmer in his mind as he lost himself in the moment, in her touch. The future was always uncertain, and for now he would let bliss engulf him.
