The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

"from what I saw, it is strange, I am glad. you two will only get stronger and stronger as a pair. Learning how each other works as a unit. Hopefully one day I get to see you both train together." She smiled. She always thought it would be cool to have a pair with her, however being on a boat, doesn't give her much of a chance. Also she has a whole crew to think about.
I was asked years ago to be a trainer for newly paired soldiers, but as I am unpaired i thought how can i train them. Plus even though i am a witch I suck at magic." She wish she was stronger than she was and that she payed more attention to her magic as a child however she was more forcused on the sword and crossbow than the magic that flows within her, which she regrats in so many ways now.
Nodding her head, Kat wasn't sure how useful a pair would be on a ship. With how chaotic the shift was, but learning about it was always a good thing. Improving on one's magic, which was something that apparently Val needed help with. Quite a surprise seeing as she was an otherwise accomplished soldier.
"Really? Why didn't you say something? We could have practiced when we were sparring." Raising an eyebrow she wasn't sure why Val hadn't raised this concern earlier. Kat enjoyed magic, especially when it added to the violence.

"The captain commander daughter, a wife of a delaney isn't a powerful witch and struggle with the most basic things isn't something you want to blurt out willy nilly." She said rubbing the back of her neck softly. "But i do need to improve it, to protect the people I love. Also to protect my country from everything."
Kat looked at Val, shaking her head. "Do I seem the type to care about what people should be?" Slightly offended that the fellow witch would think she'd care, about such things. At this point it didn't entirely matter though, and the sailor hopefully knew Kat enough that she'd gladly offer the help.

Val smiled and give a soft laugh. "yeah you've never been one to care." the one thing she loved about her friend was her amazing way of thinking. she never stopped being her because he was a lady and she respect her for that. "when should we start training?" val asked her eyes was saying that she was eager to learn the magic she knows she has.
"Why not now?" Slamming her glass on the table breaking it, she cut her palm, and rather than whispering as she usually did, Kat spoke the words to pull a smaller summoning into existence. Not a great idea without something for it to go after, but she didn't have to think everything out. "Now you." Controlling her summoning, it leapt across the room, a small rabbit like demon that would start towards Val if she didn't pull something off soon.

Val eyes widen in fear when kat smash the glass she was about to stand up to tend to, however, when she started summoning, val started to look around for a weapon, which is her normal, automatic response. "What the fuck Kat?" She clearly doesn't know what to do. She clearly hasn't been using her magic so she not as confident to do stuff like this. She ran to grab a sword that was hanging just above the fireplace. "When i say i am not great a magic i wasn't underminding my skills there Kat." Her voice was slightly scared.
Kat laughed, knowing the best way to learn was by getting thrown into the deep end. It had worked for her and all her siblings, so why wouldn't it work for Valeria? "You what I said, repeat it now." She had never been a soft person or the type to coddle.
The summoning would be difficult to deal with only a sword, and so Val was going to have to think fast. "Now." The incantation would hop closer, demonic eyes starting at the younger witch.

Val looked between the demonic rabbit and Kat, she can't remember any chants that needed to summon but she know if she don't respond with something of equal power or more by the way the rabbit was looking at her, she will be on the floor. Her breathing was heavy trying to think of any chants that she might know to summon something.
As she was thinking she tries to keep a good distance between her and the bunny even though she know despite her many years of training she wouldn't be outrun this beast. As she tries to think. she can't think of anything that she might want as she doesn't know anything, so she cut her arm with her sword enough for some blood to full down her arm and did a random summon.
After a bit a small red Kitty with a pointy tail and have horns on her head. The kitty started hissing at the bunny protecting Val. She had an unsure look about her. The kitty was slightly bigger then the rabbit in size.
Kat wouldn't have let the thing kill Val, but you didn't learn without getting a couple of scratches. That's what she had learned, and if the young witch wanted a teacher this is what she got.
The small summoning lept at Val's ankles, small sharp teeth trying to land as the woman finally started to do something. It took a little longer than Kat would have liked, but the summoning came as it was called. Her's would leap back, moving not like a normal bunny would, because it wasn't, it was a dark force. "Good, now have it kill mine."
Her eyes locked onto Val, watching her move as she sent her summoning forward again.

When the rabbit lept towards Val she didn't pull away in time when the rabbit bite into her ankle and it stung as hell. "Fuck." she swore under her breath. That will heart for a while, that she can be certain of. She takes a deep breath as she forcus on what is at hand. She doesn't know what she is doing and yes this isn't magic 101 basic this is Kat's method and she asked for it, so she getting what she asked for and if she learnt anything over the past five years of knowing Kat winters was to never think she would take the easy way. Not for a second.
Kill? yeah it didn't come straight away maybe suggesting she might be the strongest witch yeah she might be a Usher and yes this might be a small summons, but she had five years of doing no magic, when she did training she wasn't the best at magic, manily she wasn't paying much attention cause she struggled at it. That way she was always much better at her weapons then anything else. So when Kat said for her to kill her summon she looked toward Kat just hoping this work
The cat noticing that Val's ankle is bleading eyes starting flaming red as it charged faster then a jagure towards the bunny full fangs showing as it charged towards the bunny trying to grab it by th the neck, to rip it's throat open.
Her smile widened at Val started to understand her situation. The ship was sinking and she needed to figure out what to do fast. The blood from the woman's ankle only encouraged the summoning, rushing forwards to meet it's opponent to get to the woman whose blood it had tasted.
Kat watched, circling off to the side, her eyes flicking between Val and the summonings. Her's was smaller and she gave it wild directions that made it a losing battle. And eventually it was boring, sending an incantation at them both with enough force to destroy both, although the mess they had made of the room remained.

When it was over val just stood there in poot shock about what just happened. She can't believe that that just happened. She just stood froozen staring into thin air about what she had just done. It like just finding out you are a witch for the first time but wasn't like a big hairy guy smashing yoour house door down at midnight and announcing that you are a Wizard sort of way. But more of you can destroy somebodies life if you not careful sort of way.
Adter a moment she sat down as she could feel the sting in her leg and she took in the room. "You know that mahogany right? yu could of at least directed us to the garden"
"Now what kind of fun would that be?" Shaking her head Kat hadn't planned to make a mess, but she also hadn't planned any of this out. It wasn't like Val was going to have to clean up anyways as the lady of the house. "Besides then it wouldn't have been a surprise. Which was the entire point."
You didn't get told when someone was going to attack in the military, and that was something that surely Val understood. Kat thought that it was a good learning experience, despite the mess, and she didn't often make efforts to help others even if they helped her.

She laughed softly as she looked at the bite ignoring the bleeding arm, she made to use as a summoning tool. She did have a point about a surprise she can't always be ready. "What if for some reason I couldn't summon anything. that whatever I summoned took longer to pop out? I don't even know what I summoned it was just of the random ones." She asked.
She hobbles to the table and started to gather the glass pieces together. Even though she was the lady of the house she couldn't expect the staff to clean up the mess she made she wasn't that sort of lady.
