The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Her eyes squinted and smile sharp, Kat was not in the mood for any illuminating observations that Thom might have. She wasn't risking her life for anyone, just looking around, the information man could stick his ideas up his ass. "You know nothing Thom Skerrick."
Turning to watch the hounds she crossed her arms and walked around, trying not to disrupt while also taking the scene in. Just as grizzly as it had been described, certainly smelling as it should. But what could split a horse like that? It was beyond her. "Have either of you seen this type of magic in your travels?"
Thom bit back a rejoinder with a concerted effort, merely lifting his shoulders in a small shrug as he leaned against a tree to let the dogs do their work. She could protest as much or as little as she wanted, but it was apparent enough that Katerina Winters had a Reason with a capital R for being here, and it wasn't just simple curiosity. No one came to a place like this without due cause, and no one brought a weapon like that unless they were anticipating some sort of danger. Put two and two together, and she was risking her life for something, or someone, but she had made her opinion clear enough.
"You're asking the wrong person here." He replied to her question with a small shrug. "We don't exactly have magic of any sort like this in Skia, unless it was a particularly vicious summoning. But being nothing more than a man, I'm not quite privy to the ins and outs of witch magic. Never left Nevermere, either, save for a few brief forays in my military days."
"I think I know my own magic." She did not. "And this doesn't seem possible." To rip into something like that, but not like an animal. Like from the inside out, stepping through it almost. The horse was certainly destined for nothing at this point, even it's hide useless from the tearing. Maybe someone would have the misfortune of buying one of the horseshoes thinking it would bring them luck.
Pulling up one of the legs of her pants and cutting her leg she summoned a creature with the intent of tracking. Of course there was a certain point where the trail ended. There was nothing there but blood. Not helpful in anyway, especially with the hounds circling the same area. "She couldn't have just vanished into thin air for fucks sake."
Thom remained quiet, for the most part. After all, he wasn't a tracker, he wasn't a hunter, he was just someone who knew people, and this wasn't exactly his area of expertise. He did keep his eyes on the hounds, trailing after them through the trees with that smooth stride until they stopped, circling several times and baying loudly. So. The trail ended. And quite abruptly, for that matter. As if someone had vanished into thin air. There were a few tricks that could have an effect like that, but none of them that would stand up to hounds, or... whatever that was that Kat had summoned, his dark eyes crinkling slightly at the corners.
"Well, if we can eliminate the impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be true." He murmured, casting his eyes around through the trees. "We know that she is not here, after all. If we then refuse to accept the possibility of her death, which at this point seems unlikely, because the dogs would certainly have found some further trace, then is there not but one option left available to us? Lady Oxiana fled through the woods... reached this point, and vanished. Into thin air."
Kat chewed on the inside of her cheek, listening to Thom as he spoke. This whole thing was stupid and annoying. Rosamere wasn't great at fighting but she wasn't a weak witch. If whoever or whatever this what had overwhelmed her so quickly it didn't seem likely they would ever find an answer. No body no crime. It sucked.
"So we know she was alive, but that's it. Which at this point means nothing." It had been too long. They were looking too late and not doing enough. But Kat didn't know what else to do. Maybe it was time to escalate these things, higher up. Now that they knew she hadn't died here. Cutting her other leg she let forth a summons, a small hellish looking bird that flew away on it's purpose. Find Rosamere Osxiano . She didn't know how to bring it back or how to figure out where the thing went. But maybe Rosamere wouldn't completely give up on getting back.
Shaking her head she circled again. "I think that's it then."

Thom lifted an eyebrow slightly, glancing back at her as she summoned again, his eyes resting there for a moment. "It's not quite nothing." he murmured, rolling his shoulders in a small shrug. "Whatever or whoever did this, I don't imagine they did it with the sole intent of killing her, otherwise we might very well have already found her dead. As it stands, we must continue to believe that she is alive, and continues to be so, in the absence of other proof. It does seem like... a rather curious way to kill someone, after all, and there is no motive to speak of, but... it could also be possible that she had been taken by whatever did this. I would tend towards that belief, Lady Winters. Until more information presents itself, it would be best to proceed under the hope that she is still in this world, and equally invested in returning as you are in finding her."
While Thom seemed to generally be an optimist on the matter, Kat was never one to hope or wish for things, so his words fell on largely deaf ears. They were probably nice words, one that were meant to help, but what she still got from it was that they had gotten nowhere in finding the youngest Morrigan. It was slightly frustrating, especially since she was actually trying at something for once in her life. "That's all conjecture, nothing we can bring for evidence." It was extremely frustrating.
Turning back to their horses she shook her head. "Well it's been a lovely afternoon gentlemen." Not really, but this was useless at this point.
