[For @dresden]
The Thirsty Wench Tavern. A well-known tavern with a little side hustle. The fact that you could share a room upstairs with a woman or a man for some coin, was public knowledge. Nobles didn't often visit the tavern, but commoners surely did. The Bronze Lion was above their status and they'd get side-eyed if they set foor in the place. Scout knew she was welcome at the Bronze Lion at any time, but tonight she had decided to visit the lesser cousin of the pub. If you wanted to know how the people really felt, a place filled with commoners and booze was the place to be. Even though she did decide to pay the tavern a visit to overhear some conversations, she also wanted a drink, and being the thrill-seeking, fun woman that she was, a place like this was perfect for it. She had brought her dagger in case she found herself in a sticky situation and knew she'd be able to defend herself. She didn't spend time in the military for nothing, and apart from that, she was a Kane. They were known to be great in combat.
Scout hadn't come to the tavern to share a room with a man, but she got the offer almost immediately after she entered the establishment. Well, it wasn't an offer per se. That made it sound like she'd be doing them a favour. No, a man had approached her to tell her his prices. She had kindly informed him that she wasn't interested in what he had to offer. While she was sitting at the bar, she saw some people going upstairs every now and then but didn't pay much attention to it. A spot at the bar was perfect for frequent refills without having to make her way all across the tavern.
The Lady Steward could hold her liquor, so she wasn't afraid of getting drunk and being taken advantage of. She was perfectly capable of delivering a fine uppercut if necessary. She put some coin on the bar when the barman brought her a beer and gulped it down before ordering a second one. The man slightly raised his eyebrow but had learned not to ask too many questions when it came to the visitors.
Not long after she had received her second pint, a fight broke out at a nearby table. At first it was just a verbal disagreement, but quickly it turned physical. Two men were going at each other, taking turns at swinging and dodging punches. The small woman sighed and took another sip before sliding down the stool and walking over to the table. She stood next to them for a moment before taking out her dagger and jamming in into the surface of the table. "Let's keep it civil, shall we?" she said firmly. At first the men seemed flabbergasted but quickly they nodded and sat down again, looking like a whipped dog. "Good boys." Scout turned around and made her way back to the bar, retaking her seat. But her beer was gone. She frowned and looked around.
