Adeline was about to call out for them to be quick about approaching when Ermir caught her eye moving through the crowd. A wide smile split her face as she leaned forward, waiting for him to approach to make his Tribute offer. Perhaps she would do the same as Hiram and request they take Ermir to her room as well.
He approached and bowed to them, smiling at her in particular and her smile turned into a more possessive one. Yes, she would have him taken to her room and that could be his Tribute. He could keep whatever he had managed to scrape together to give them. But before she could open her mouth to make the order, another Dresmondi seemed to appear from nowhere next to him, wielding a knife no less.
Adeline's eyes widened but she wouldn't get the chance to jump from her seat to deal with the aggressor because a whip snapped out from Ermir's hand and wrapped around the woman's neck. Then the newest Eldouir jumped forward, her little creature swooping by and expelling fire from its mouth, igniting the woman. Adeline stood as the woman shrieked and screamed while slowly burning alive. She remained standing, watching the burning mass until it stopped shrieking and finally stopped moving.
Her nose scrunched at the smell of burning hair and flesh as she lifted her eyes to scan the crowd. "Let this be a lesson to anyone else who thinks to disturb the peace with acts of violence. You will be up against more than just the Eldouirs," she called out into the heavy silence that had fallen over the crowd.
She let her words hang in the air for a moment before turning to Luka, "We do not mark Eldouirs, but you have certainly quickly shown your allegiance. And you..." she turned back to Ermir, a smile coming to her face again, "Two brands for courageously defending your Queens. We will ensure you have the best supplies for your tavern this year."
With that, she waved her hand dismissively, all ideas of taking Ermir back to her room gone. Now she was focused on the crowd and any other potential threats. She moved back towards her chair, but did not sit, and waited for the next Dresmondi to approach.
