"Well, I'm glad to hear it feels as if nothing's changed when you do get the chance to see her", the woman replied with a smile. She knew the feeling all too well, although it wasn't exactly the same. She didn't see Keelan much either, and at first this hadn't influenced their relationship all that much. Lately though, the two of them disagreed more. She couldn't blame him for it. Her uncle, Adder, and Keelan had never really liked each other, whereas Gunne agreed with Adder's opinions about the royal family and the Morrigan children joining the military. She didn't want Ruben to join the military after his mandatory training either, although she knew that would make for a serious conversation between her and Romulo. They had recently given it some thought and he had told her that he just wanted what was best for her and the family, but she knew it would still sting if Ruben didn't join the military. Romulo had given much of his strength and power to it when he was still active.
Gunne huffed silently, not at Temperance's words but because she could painfully relate to them. "I know what you mean", she said, looking away to let her eyes wander around the room for a moment. It wasn't much of a sensitive topic, but she still didn't like thinking about it. "It seems like the bigger the family, the less you see them." Family was extremely important to Gunne. Although she had a lot of cousins, she didn't see them much. Recently they had been talking more often, but not necessarily for the right reasons. Their dear Rosamere was still missing. A few days prior to this day, a meeting had been called with Hadrian about it and to her surprise, only Keelan and herself had shown up. This was something that didn't sit right with her. She returned her gaze to the dark-haired witch sitting across from her. "That's why we all need little sub-families, and the beautiful think is that we get to choose who we consider for those positions." The smile returned to her face again. "You're part of it now."
It was nice to hear someone agree with her, or at least sympathise with what her family had been through over the years. "The circumstances definitely don't help", she sighed, referring to the fact that the throne was taken from them and that her aunt was supposed to be on it instead of a family that didn't have a rightful claim on it. It would've been smarter to wipe out the entire Morrigan family so there weren't people out there holding a grudge against the current ruling family. "Thank you", she said softly. "The loss is definitely something I still struggle with. I didn't really get a chance to meet my parents, my dear mother and father. I was only just born when they were taken away from me." She realised as she was speaking that she had not shared this grief with anyone yet. Sure, she had talked about it with her brother, but she hadn't really opened up about it since she had become an adult. Not in depth, anyway.
