The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
The strangeness of their relationship was not lost on Cezar. Strangers who happened to find each other. But he trusted her despite some of her less than stable tendencies. One of the reasons he was slightly worried about her going first without him.
Taking a sip of his drink he swirled the remaining bit around his glass. "Do make sure not to have too much fun without me." Raising his eyebrow their ideas of fun still varied even now despite years together.

“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
The corners of Tallis’s eyes crinkled with a rosy-cheeked smile. Normally the woman looked about as deathly as the decay she inflicted on the world. Now, she looked buoyant, dragged entirely out of her post-verdict blues. Now she was entirely confident this was meant to be. Tallis chuckled, taking another celebratory, aggressive gulp of her drink.
“You remember the day we first met?” Tallis said with a wicked grin, “Could Severus have ever imagined he’d be plotting treason with Tallis Morand?”
Severus. No he would simply not believe the life that he was currently living. He had dreamed of a family, with kids, a loving wife. And while Cezar would never dream of anything different anymore, it was a reminder that made him drink and smile flicker if only for a moment.
"With how you acted when we first met he didn't see much of anything with you." Sipping his drink Cezar shook his head. "Luckily you have a strong enough will for the both of us."

Tallis snorted. She was mostly a stranger to affection. Whatever respect, even love, she’d eventually acquired for her father had been entirely without warmth. It was an intellectual respect. A practical love. Cezar was the only person that had ever summoned the spark of humanity that lit her eyes now. It was more than kinship. It was an attachment so deep that it was its own kind of magic.
“Do you ever regret it?” Tallis’s voice was flat with frankness. She’d dragged Cezar into another life. Activated the ideological disease that had been dormant in his blood. She’d made him a Scorza. Tallis had no doubt he could have gone on living happily—married a bright-eyed woman and had beautiful bright-eyed children.
But there’d always be a piece missing—Tallis believed that. She’d made him the man he was fated to be.
Cezar didn't even have to pause a second to know his answer. "Never." Sure he'd been confused at first, but if you found out you were about to get heavy with your sister you might too.
So there were no regrets, and he was pushing forward, with his twin, and towards the glory of the Scorza name. "Although I have a feeling the next few months are going to test me." Laughing he took the last sip of his drink and set it down.
For the Scorza name though, he was ready to do it all.

Tallis snorted. Though she rolled her eyes, her smile was made of something more genuine. Not quite relief, but at least affirmation. Her world had been empty without Cezar. Before she found him, Tallis had lived so long with loneliness that she’d stopped feeling the cold of its harsh wind. But Cezar had changed everything. He’d made her whole. She looked at him for a long moment before sighing.
“I’m going to get somet hings together. Try and get to bed early.” Tallis stood, putting her glass by the sink before turning to her Cezar with a smirk. “You should too. You look exhausted.”
"Thank you for the compliment dear wife." Laughing he stretched but stayed where he was. He needed a minute to think alone. This wasn't going to be an easy few months. Of course he hadn't expected happily ever after, but maybe this would at least bring them closer to finding their siblings. And that's all he could hope for.
Putting his glass down he rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands. "I'll get some rest though." Maybe after he fixed some of the things that had fallen into decay in his absence. Because he was certainly going to need all the sleep he could now.

“Anytime.” Tallis paused for a moment, looking at Cezar thoughtfully. She wasn’t in the habit of expressing strong emotions or making displays of feeling. Tallis was a pragmatic creature and at most times a guarded one. Yet she had her moments; her little ways in which she expressed affection and care for those in her circle. Well, really just Cezar.
Tallis stepped forward and kissed Cezar on the cheek, squeezing his shoulder. “Don’t stay up too late,” She reiterated before turning and going toward the back of the house.
