The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

@dresden
new season, New woman that what she been telling herself for the past week. trying to get herself on her feet again. It been another week since Dresden talked to Elliot She even thought about heading out.Sina went to the Thirsty Wench as after asking around heard that this was one of Dresden favourite hang outs. A tavern, a place that yes you wouldn't see Sina in normally as even though she drink, she not a social drinker. she stuck out like a sore thumb in here but she hold up high and she walked up to the bar. "Can I have a whiskey please?" She asked. The bar keep raised her eyebrow unsure if this woman even know what as whiskey is before she nodded and poured her a glass. "Thank you". Suna payed her the money before she looked around for the blond haired man.
Once she spotted him she mastered a smile before she walked up to him. "Is there space for one more?" She asked trying to seem confident in herself, forget Astor, move on from him. You a cute woman who can do anything she set her heart to any man lucky to have her.
Dresden had been spending a little more time at the thirsty wench lately than he might have. Most of his plans were on hold until, contingent on a few different things. One, he had to wait for the rumors about he and Scout to die down, and had to wait to see if she was going to get pregnant. Two, Ikisina had been holed up in her bedroom for days and until she came out, he couldn't work toward that. Three, his plans with Elliot Moore were simply dependent upon time itself. Four, he hadn't heard much from Prince Augustus lately.
So he sat somewhere toward the back of the tavern, a mug of ale in his hand, doing what he did best. People-watching. He'd had the day off and was in his normal clothes, sans uniform. The hat he usually wore sat on the table in front of him, and he was otherwise alone. So when a woman too pretty and too proper walked in, she caught his eye. At first he couldn't see her face, but the dress she wore was all too familiar. He watched her as she went to the barman and ordered a drink, but pretended not to have seen her when she found him and began walking over.
"Miss Ikisina," he looked up at her from the table, then looked around. "Why in the stars -- how did you get here? Did you come alone?" He asked, placing that expression of worry on his face. "Of course, of course, sit with me," he said, scooting off and allowing her room to sit as well. "What're you doin' here?"

Sina looked around seeing who the tavern seeing who around as she walked toward Dresden sipping her drink. "I walked. I also did come alone." Sina sat down next down next to him. "II came here for you. I wanted to say sorry I let you down with the lessons. plus I felt like I needed a drink." She lifted up her drink.
The woman before him really did look out of place in the Thirtsy Wench. Noble or not, she'd fit in better at the Bronze Lion. This place was anything but proper and she very much looked like the sweet librarian. No matter, though, she was there now and while it had been a bit of a surprise, it wasn't one he couldn't work with.
"You got no reason to apologize to me," he said, shaking his head as she sat down next to him. He crossed his arms onto the table and looked over at her. "I understand, but if you wanted a drink, this is the place to get it." He picked up his mug and tapped it lightly against her glass, then took a drink and sat it back down on the table.
When she asked how he had been, he groaned a little, shrugging. "Up to my neck in shit, if I'm honest," he said. "But how 'bout you? Look, I heard 'bout what happened and I'm sorry it went down that way."

Sina give a small smile giving Dresden mug a tap with of glass of whisky. When he said that his neck been up in shot she rested a hand on his lower arm and softly stroked it. "I am sorry to hear that Dresden. I am here if you need to talk ok?" It wasn't a tell me everything now, but more of you may not want to talk about it and that is okay.
She leaned back when he mentioned that he knew what happened and she took a bigger swig of her drink nearly downing it. "I was a fool thinking any of it could have gone anywhere. He was right, a commoner and noble can never be together. It was a dumb mistake and I can't even blame him, if he never see me again. If I could I wouldn't see myself."
"I appreciate that," he said, taking a few hearty sips of his ale, clearly not willing to let her in on what those particular problems of his were. At least not for the moment, not that she was offering to listen to his problems now anyway. No something was different about her tonight and he couldn't be sure what it was just yet, but he was sure she'd tell him eventually.
"Well, I do wish you woulda waited until I talked to him," he admitted, his tone still gentle, sympathetic. "Woulda been an easier conversation to have in private than the middle of the courtyard. But don't be so hard on yourself. You gotta know by now that Astor don't care that you're a commoner. It's his family that he's worried 'bout, but it really don't make no difference. In the end, one way or another, we don't belong with their kind." He took a drink to match hers, and sighed. "So this is what we get to pick and choose from," he said, gesturing generally to the other men and women in the tavern. He chuckled faintly, then shook his head. "You been practicin' the stuff I taught ya?"

Maybe her heart is more closed of to love, she doesn't know what up maybe she more forcus on making sure that the people she grew up safe from harm, protecting them the way she can. What ever that might be from what is coming. "I know he didn't care that I was a commoner and wanted to protect me from his family. I'm too sweet and innocent." She laughed softly as she looked around the room at the other commoners in the room. "I haven up on love offically. I am off the market." She looked into her cup she does want love but she also don't want to be the fool and think that something might be there when there nothing.
He straightened his back, lifting a brow. So that was the route she had taken? Denial? Eh, well, so be it. "Well it's best to take a break from worryin' 'bout it after somethin' like this anyway. You got enough on your plate as it is. But me and the Baronet are workin' on some of it." He spotted a woman walking across the tavern, one that he didn't recognize at first. Her blonde hair caught his attention, but he realized fairly quickly that it was a wig and the woman was one of the many who worked upstairs. He rolled his eyes and sat back against the seat.
"You just keep practicin'. We'll get those Barons outta your hair. And then everything can go back to normal, we'll carry on with our lives and eventually we'll be so old we'll be forced to settle down with someone just so they can take care of us."

Sina looked at Dresden for a moment as she lean back. "I don't think it a break, I think it more forever. I cannot afford this ridiculous thing called love anyway." Sina give a weak smile when he said that he and Elliot are working on it. Softly taking his hand in hers. "thank you..." She looked in the direction Dresden seeing the blond wig women knowing what sort of worker she is like even though she is sweet she not stupid. "Anything the rent I suppose." She said softly to Dresden's eye roll giving him a genuine smile.
She laughed "You settled down? Plus like I said I am off the market, living a forever single life." She smiled wide. "plus you are old already"
"You ain't got no reason to think that," he said, his voice a little stern. "You're young and beautiful, you've got plenty time to find true love, whatever that is." He smirked. "I'm sure you'll find someone in your own time, even if it don't feel like that right now." She took his hand in hers and he gave it a squeeze, waving the other hand in a careless gesture. "Naw, no reason for thanks. Anyway, the Baronet is doin' most the work."
She seemed to have followed his gaze and he lifted a brow, shaking his head. "I just didn't recognize her at first. I know pretty much everyone in here, so I was surprised to see someone new. Same as I was surprised to see you," he replied with a smile. No, the kinds of women that worked at the Inn were not Dresden's preference. He didn't care for spending his hard earned coin when he didn't have to. And he really didn't have to.
"Look, I've got three years before I'm too old to get married," he corrected her playfully, running a hand through his thick, blonde hair. "This hair will draw someone in one day, just you watch." He finished off the remnants of his mug and slid it across her to the edge of the table. "Anyhow, if I'd have known I was gonna see ya I woulda brought the stuff I've been practicin'. I've gotten a lot better usin' those papers you gave me."

Sina laughed when he mentioned true love. "What if true love doesn't exist, or what if I am that one person who is not meant to find true love? I rather face the fact that I might die alone than wander the streets of Lorendale finding something that is not out there not for me anyway." It is extremely rare to find women grow old unwedded, but it does happen. Maybe she will be one of those people, not like she would mind there a risk if she get married and has a family that her children will have a gift and she doesn't want her children to face the worries of being gifted.
"yeah as you know I don't visit taverns but I know it the sort of place you like." their hands still softly intertwine.
"I don't know about that Dresden. I think I see a few grey hairs right here." She had a playful smile on her face as she pointed to near the front of his head.a soft laugh but it was true come from her lips. "I was debating coming to be fair but i am happy you been practising have the commander saud anything about your improvments?"
"I see what you mean," he said, relenting. "I'm not so sure 'bout all the love stuff myself. I think it's more likely people just settle down with whoever seems the most tolerable and over time you get so used to 'em that it feels like whatever love is 'spose to feel like. But how should I know?" He laughed at himself, shaking his head. "I'm sure that don't sound too helpful to you right now. If I'm bein' honest, and I am, I'm the last person you ought to go to for any kinda advice or pep talk 'bout this kinda stuff. I'm real bad at it."
A barmaid came over to take his mug, and he lifted a finger in the air to keep her attention. "Another of those, and another of whatever the lady here wants, please ma'am," he said. The woman nodded, checked on whatever Ikisina might like to drink, and then walked off to get it.
Grinning a little, he looked sideways at her as he gently pulled his hand away from hers so he could reach it into his pocket and slide a couple of coins to the edge of the table for the barmaid when she returned. "Now, you say that like it's supposed to mean somethin'," he said, gesturing around at the people in the busy tavern. "All I do here is drink, watch people get into fights, occasionally break up those fights, occasionally get involved in those fights, as I'm sure you remember." The bruises on the side of his face, along his neck and abdomen, were finally beginning to fade, but they weren't entirely gone. "Ain't much else to do when I'm not at work."
He swatted her hand away playfully as she pointed out his gray hair, fixing it back the way he liked it, which was usually a mess. "I heard women like a little gray, makes a man look distinguished or somethin'. Might only work for the rich ones," he shrugged. "Naw, but he did stop complaining about the bad writin', so that's progress, right?" The barmaid brought them their new drinks and took the coins he'd sat on the table. He took a sip from his new mug, then sighed.

"Too bad, I can't marry books then." She said softly but at the moment she feels like those are the only thing that give her comfort in all of this, they been there by herside since she was a kid and she know that no matter what they will never break your hurt.
"Dresden you don't have to pay for my drink." She tried to insist on her paying she even took some coin out and place her coins and give back Dresden's. She was able to buy her own drinks and she doesn't want anybody else buying her drinks.
"I don't know where you heard that but i think you had one too many knocks to the head if you think women like men with grey hair." She winked softly. "I am happy to hear that the captain stopped complaining.
"Well I don't think I've read any laws sayin' somebody can't marry books," he said, a shrug. "I'm sure the Nobles would find some way to ruin that, too, though." There was a bitterness to his tone, one that had replaced indifference since all this stuff with Scout and Astor had gone on. It just felt right to portray it that way, especially if Ikisina went talking to Astor later. "Some of 'em act like they don't care if someone is a commoner or not, but when it really comes down to it, that's never true."
She insisted on paying for her own drink, throwing her own coin onto the table and returning his. He nodded, putting it back into his pocket. "If that's what ya want, I ain't gonna argue with you," he said, smiling. He never liked spending his own money when it wasn't necessary.
He huffed and pretended to take offense to what she said, rolling his eyes and waving her words off. "You just don't know what the ladies are talkin' 'bout these days. Trust me, if the golden locks don't get 'em, the silver will." He laughed, but already he was tired of the ruse. "Yep, I reckon any day now he'll come to me and start askin' me to write up the reports for all the men 'cause they're so pretty." He took another drink, then leaned back in the booth and looked out at the people once more.
"Look, I'm real glad to see you're okay and all, and I'm happy to have some company. But knockin' back whiskey ain't exactly the look of somebody over their troubles. You should be savin' this energy for that place you're workin' on, or for the people you gotta teach at the library. You're better than this place."

Sina just ingnored the mention of how noble pretending that they care about commoners cause aside from Elliot, Jastiel, and Felix all over nobles she feel like that starting to be true. That they act nice then once they got want they want throw them aside and forget about.
When they drinks came back she took a swing of her drink, she give Dresden the wide smile as wide as possible "I am fine Dresden, I promise. Plus who to say I am better than this place? I am a commoner like you and everybody else in here ain't I? Plus, I will be fine for work."
