The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Sina just sat on the crate feeling the breeze hit her. She wrapped Dresden's jacket closer to keep herself warm as she waited for Dresden to come back out. Seeing people walking into the tavern to have night of fun and what ever most commoners enjoy doing. However, she wasn't like most commoners was she? To too sweet, to kind to be a commoner. However, she will never be a noble, so she was at the point where she was neither and will never be either.
When Dresden came back she felt Dresden arm wrap round her should. She lean into him not load that all her weight was on him but enough to offer support and warmth and her outer arm reached over to softly grab his shirt for more support as she kept Dresden jack wrapped round her. As they walked she looked down. "Dresden. I want to thank you. Even though it was short I had a fun night."
Once he was back outside and leading her down the road toward the Baronet's manor, she clung to him. Then thanked him, which only made him laugh more. "Don't thank me now," he said, rubbing her shoulder through the jacket he'd draped over her. "After you've gotten over the hangover you're gonna have from all this, you can thank me if you still feel like it's necessary. Bettin' you won't feel the same." He said jokingly, but looked down at her as they turned onto the street which they could follow most of the way. "Next time we'll plan a little better. You can slow down on your drinks, we'll make the night last and you can dance as much as ya want."
He huffed, clearing his throat. "And you ain't gotta worry 'bout the kiss, I understand."

Sina give a weak smile but a 'i'm going to regrat this in the moment.' sort of deal as she give him a laugh it was true. "You should know by know Dresden that I am a stubborn women, so i going to hate to burst your bubble but I am going to thank you even more when i next see yo." She explained as they walked. "I would love to make a night of this, but without getting drunk part. I don't like this part." She was glad that she had Dresden by her side right now, she feel comfort with him rubbing her shoulder.
When he mentioned the kiss. She give a weak laugh at it she felt a bit foolish about kissing him, "I did mean what I said back in the tavern that the kiss was really good. That wasn't a druken mess saying that in the heat of the moment. Well, it kind of was. It was a friend saying that and I will stand by it." She said like he was a friend somebody who she see want to build their friendship more and be able to tell him everything.
"Well, you're not wrong about that. You are stubborn as all get out," he confirmed as he glanced around the street. Even if he didn't think anyone would follow him, he was a naturally paranoid person and with the attacks on Ikisina, it was better to be safe than to be sorry. "But I like that 'bout you. And hey, far as gettin' drunk goes, it can be pretty bad. But it can be pretty fun if ya do it the right way. No headaches, no dizziness. I'll show ya next time." He grinned.
Her words about the kiss nearly had him rolling his eyes. She'd kissed him in a moment of loneliness and now wanted to spare his feelings by assuring him it had at least been a good kiss? Well of course it had been. He was no boy. He knew what he was doing. "I know, really, you don't gotta explain nothin'." He looked forward, instead of at her. "I mighta got a little wrapped up, too. I know where you're comin' from. This stuff I got goin' on just, well, it's complicated and not much different from your stuff. We all just...want someone there, sometimes. But hey, we've got each other. We can trust each other. We'll figure it out our way. And eventually we'll both find someone else better suited for us and we'll laugh 'bout all of it, right?"

Sina laughed a bit "That what you like about me? Not that I'm just brilliant." She tries herself at a joke even though there was some doubt in her voice about being brilliant. She need to build herself up to be the best version she could or at least go back to where she was before the heartbreak, before the attacks.
Sina listened to Dresden as he explained what he going through, she doesn't know what was going on because with work and not interacting with nobles and the fact that not many soldiers come into the library where she works. She possible one of the few people who haven't heard the rumors. Sina loosen her grip on his shirt moved her hand to rest on his chest. "You will find somebody who is just as annoying as yourself and I.... I'll will find somebody who i can bare enough to live with for the rest of my life." She smiled.
"No, no," he said, lifting a finger. "Now don't go twistin' my words. I said your stubbornness is one thing I like 'bout ya. I figured your brilliance goes without sayin', but if I gotta, I'll say it." He said playfully, still a little surprised by how much more confident and bold she was when intoxicated. If she was like that all the time she could probably have bagged a Noble by now, even if only as a mistress. Mistresses live better than most commoners, that was for sure, but really, Ikisina didn't need that. She had the Baronet. Elliot Moore had no heirs to pass his money and estate down to. Who else would he give it to, but Ikisina?
When she placed her hand on his chest, he gripped it in hers, squeezing it lightly, then lifted it to his lips for a light kiss. Her words made him laugh out loud, and then looked down at her, nodding. "Someone as annoying as me and someone you can stand to deal with for the rest of your life? Two tall orders, my dear friend, but yes. We may just. Hopefully before my whole head is gray, as you so love to point out."
As they walked, his laughter quieted once more. "So, will we begin our lessons again, m'lady?"

Sina laughed. "I know I'm brilliant, that's because I am fucking gorgeous. Like who wouldn't love me?" What was coming out of her mouth? She wasn't normally as bold and confident as they were. She won't call herself brilliant she one hundred percent wouldn't call herself gorgeous. It was the drink in her that made her say these things.
When he took her hand in his to kiss softly she softly rubs his hand with her thumb even when drunk she still have her gentle touch about her. She always been gentle it will never be in her nature not to be unless somebody really press a button which only happened a couple of times in the past but she swore not to go there. "Well if it not my job to point that you getting old than i am not being a friend. I am just doing my duty." She laughed softly.
When Dresden asked if they going to go back to lessons Sina looked up to him and smiled. "Of course. Still need to make a man out of that chicken. Or was it the chicken out of the man?" She asked playfully.
He laughed with her and shook his head. "Wow, you're really taking advantage of the curse words, too, ain't ya?" He said, giving her a surprised look. "I mean, I told ya go on and say whatever ya wanna say, but you're even throwin' me off a little bit. I'm wonderin' if I even know the real Ikisina. Is the quiet woman in the library her, or is this her?" He acted as if he was thinking it over. "I like both, for very different reasons," he said jokingly, though he implanted something underneath. An undertone of lust, perhaps.
He sighed dramatically at her words, nodding and looking up at a few of the strands of hair that hung down in front of his face. "You're the last friend I got, so I reckon you do gotta be brutally honest with me. We wouldn't want me gettin' a big head or anything. Runnin' 'round the streets hollerin' about how brilliant and fuckin' gorgeous I am," he said as he glanced down at her, a single brow lifted.
"Hey, look, chicken, man, whatever it is, long as my Captain is off my back, I'm happy with it. So thank you very much for that. And that's no joke, either."

Who knows which one is the real her, like maybe it is a combination of both. However, she doesn't know how to be confident without being drunk which isn't ideal. Sina know she want to be as confident as she is know, with her gift and with herself. Maybe Dresden is the key to helping her find this confident sober Sina that she wants to be. "I guess my fabulous confident self should make more of an appearance." She gives him a flirtatious wink.
When he looked down at her she placed her hand on his cheek before she started tracing his jawline with a soft touch. "I don't want you to get big headed. Your head is the way I like it." She smiled even though she was drunk it was the truth in her words.
"Thank me once the lessons are finished." She gives him a weak smile
His gaze lingered on her face when she winked at him, momentarily taking in the obvious flirting though quickly remembering that he was returning her to Elliot Moore's manor and not his little apartment room. "Is alcohol required for that?" He asked, patting his pockets down with his free hand until he pulled out an old, beaten up flask. "If so, I ought to get you one of these." He unscrewed it, took a sip from it, and returned it to his pocket. If she so much as reached for it, he'd keep it away from her. She'd had more than enough for the night. "Once you've learned how to hold your liquor, that is."
This time when she reached out to touch his face and trace the line of his jaw, he lifted his hand and wrapped it around hers, pulling it away from his face slowly, gently, but rejecting the touch all the same. "Well, if this is way you like it, this is the way I'll keep it." He returned her smile, but there was some sadness in it, mixed with a hint of exhaustion.
"Alright, I'll save my thanks for when we've finished," he said as the Baronet's manor came into view and they entered through the gate, and he knocked on the door. "Hey, listen...I meant what I said at the tavern, Ikisina. It's dangerous for you to be out doin' this by yourself. I'll go out with ya any time you want, so just let me know first. It's one thing, goin' to work or the market or somethin', but a tavern at night...when ya gotta walk home? I don't want you doin' that alone. Promise me."

Sina sighs softly. "I can be confident without booze." She said confiedntly. "I .... just have to learn how?" She admitted. She want to be confident in her skills as a person, in her gift in able to walking around with the aid of somebody walking with her, even as a friend, a fatherly figure or Vern. She want to be able to get around town. She was able to walk around and feel the air on her face with somebody worring that she will get punched in the face. She doesn't want to worry either. She knows she in danger too.
When Dresden removed her hand softly she looked forward as they walked removing her hand from him as they walked. As they got to the estate. When he talked she looked at the door as he talked a tear of defeat falls down her face. She doubt that the barons will go anywhere anytime soon and yes she is scared she doesn't want to be scared. She hate this feeling of being scared. She nodded. It not like she would go to a tavern any time soon anyway. She doesn't know where she fits in. "I promise Dresden." She sigh she want all this to go away.
The door opened by Vern "Evening Miss Navarro. Mr Drake!" Sina looked at Dresden "Night Dresden" She walked into the house and closed the door behind her.
"You absolutely can be confident without booze," he repeated her, a smile. "But that takes some work. Trust me, I know. They don't say fake it 'till you make it for nothin'. Until then, a little liquid courage never hurt anybody." He looked down at her, a quick wink. "A little liquid courage. Little, being the key word."
Dresden could understand how she felt. It was one of the few things about Ikisina he could truly understand. So as they came to the door, he took her shoulders in his hands and looked at her. "Thank you for promisin'. I know this ain't ideal for you. It sucks needin' to be looked after all the time, but it's got nothin' to do with how strong you are as a person. Alright? Me and Baronet Moore will get those two Barons taken care of, and then you'll be free to do as you please. I know it's annoyin', but it's better to be safe than sorry. Don't be so hard on yourself 'bout it, though." He pulled his arms away just as Vern opened the door and gave the man a nod.
"Goodnight, Miss Ikisina," he said, waving slightly as she walked in. "And you too, Mr. Vern."
With that, the door was closed in his face. He sighed. He hadn't really expected Ikisina to show up at the tavern that night, and it'd been a little tedious to look after her, but such was the fate of those with unspoken plans.
Turning and exiting the manor, he headed for his own little manor room. Lit up a cigarette on the way, shivered, remembered Ikisina had taken his jacket, and made a mental note to get it back from her. He really liked that jacket.
