The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Open court folded to its anticlimatic conclusion. There’d been little conflict or dissent, which Magda found both boring and disturbing. There’d been a time when there’d been a robust faction of discontent at Rainecourt rule. Had the Morrigans and their kind really been so easily snuffed out? How disappointing.
There was one revelation, however, that captured her imagination. So, before her scheduled return to Coheed, Magda was determined to meet the woman at the center of it all. There could be no scheduled meeting, of course. Magda, the lowly minister that she was, had no reason to call the once-princess to her. So, Magda planned her interception. She’d spent most of her life doing such things: stalking the halls, waiting for the right moment.
Magda lurked in the castle gardens by the fountain. As she looked down into the water, crisp autumn air biting at her nose, she was struck by the memory of her first meeting with Cassian. It had been right here, what now seemed like a lifetime ago. She’d been a younger woman then. Far less sure. Far more frantic. But just as hungry as the creature whose dark eyes looked back at her from the water now.

It was over. Yet she still hadn't fully exhaled since open court, Tara had exited intent to find her daughters the oldest two were surely pacing a track in her room. The tight very form fitting dress she wore felt choking as did the jacket which she had removed carrying it tightly on hand. The chill here wasn't a bitter as Tara had experienced as Odina in Cambria.
She was cutting through the gardens letting down her dark hair, she saw the woman and gave her a gracious smile and nod of the head but with all intentions of continuing on. Still. Something about Nevermere women always caused Tara to cast a second glance. She wondered if she had seen this woman's face in the crowd? Heard her whisper about her? Damn she was beautiful though.

Magda did a subtle, practiced double-take when Odina was close enough to be noticed. She returned the dip of her head before rising, her dark eyes meeting Odina’s baby blues. Her brow pinched together for a moment as a ripple of deja vu crossed her features. There was something distantly familiar about her, but Magda couldn’t put her finger on it. Strange.
“Princess,” Magda said softly with a pretty smile, “What a surprise it was to see you at court. A surprise, but dare I say…” She tilted her head, eyes flickering over Odina before returning to her face once again, “A pleasant one.”

She almost didn't stop as this was the first time someone outside of Kennet, Cassian, and Ophilea knew before who she was...but that had all changed now as those present at court knew and Tara was sure before long the entire kingdom would know. It would take a great deal of time to adjust she was sure but Tara stopped giving her full attention to the woman, "I'm sorry my lady," she scratched nervously her left forearm before pushing a lock of dark hair behind her ear, "..Pleasant is good, lots of murmurs but it isn't every day a lost Princess comes home huh?"
Heat was building on the surface of her cheeks as her eyes all but ate the sun kissed skinned woman before her, she was deliciously pretty.
"...and Tara please, if you don't mind for now titles are new still, this is all new now of course....and what should I call you my lady?"

Magda’s smile grew, seeming to gleam in the sunlight.
“Not every day, no.” She let her eyes wander of Tara, looking for any clue that might explain the strange familiarity she felt. But after looking, Magda saw nothing, other than a beautiful woman who looked like a Nevermerean but clearly carried herself like a Cambrian.
“Magda Ivanova,” She said, dipping her head, “But you can call me Magda. I’m Minister of Foreign Affairs, currently overseeing diplomatic relations in Coheed.”

"Magda," Tara repeated the woman's name flirtatiously before relaxing a little, "Pleasure," she finally rested her eyes on Magda's eyes the glistening glaze of attraction clearly there, "Coheed you say? What does a Minister of Foreign Affairs do? I hope it is giving them hell. So did court bring you back? Do you think my message was ... Well received?"

Magda knew the heat of lust well enough to recognize it in the woman’s eyes. She was a Cambria, after all, so it wasn’t entirely unexpected. Magda had her own experiences with Kore to back it up. She smiled, white teeth dazzling in the sun.
“Diplomacy is the art of seduction: an art, but a thoroughly undignified one.” Magda tossed her curls behind her shoulder, observing the woman before her with playful interest. “There will be more than a few Ellis loyalists disappointed to see you bend the knee. But I’m sure his majesty and his counsel are feeling quite reassured to see you make so public a statement.”
It was a half-answer. A potentially dangerous one.

Tara thought about the Ellis loyalists she had met already: the Morrigan family which instantly brought a pain in her stomach. Still yet the lost Princess had saved them and personally she felt saved herself and her daughters from the path of revenge. She hadn't betrayed the Morrigan family and bending the knee as Magda said still saved them.
"As a child, sent away from my home and the tearing apart of my family," she paused not wanting to give way to anything to telling, Kennet and Cassian know the truth, "the harsh environment of Cambria....I held onto a hate so deep that getting back at the perpetrators was all that mattered. I came here with the honest intentions of getting what I wanted," she pushed back the hair on both sides of her ears, "Five years ago I came here with my daughters unaware that I'd thrown them or myself into potential danger...could have...I didn't have a plan for the fall out. I perhaps took the low road, some I'm sure will call me a coward...I see something in my nephew in what Nevermere is now, punish a boy for his Father's mistakes? The same would fall to my daughter's and revenge just trickles down...they are excelling here. I...I have a chance to find the rest of my siblings. "
She stopped, "I'm prattling, you probably have things to see to...just...I don't regret it. Time will tell I suppose. I've not seen you around the palace Magda," she wished she had seen her before, sooner, because.

Magda listened with a pleasant, pretty smile on her face. Her big, dark eyes were warm and soft like treacle, hiding the cold creature beneath. A coward is what Magda saw when she looked at Odina, but then again, sometimes it took cowardice to survive. The truly brave were liable to die for the sake of their convictions, something Magda had never come close to herself. Still, she found herself underwhelmed by the woman the Morrigans had hoped for.
“Yes, I suppose time will tell.” Magda quickly pivoted as Odina did away from the subject of Ellis rule, though the topic did not leave her mind.
“I am stationed in Coheed, overseeing our diplomatic relations there,” Magda answered, still amiable.

"And how does that fair?" Otara knew a bit about Coheed men, "If it's lacking any favors for you, just know their men weren't made for pleasure or much thinking," she stepped closer, "but if you perhaps get curious what a princess raised in Cambria can do," she leaned in close to Magda's ear whispered very lowly for a few seconds before stepping back, "That's where I'll be..."

Magda was no stranger to a woman's touch, so when Odina approached her she did not shy away. She was mindful of the need for privacy and careful not to linger with the woman's lips brushing her ear. When Odina stepped back there was a manufactured bashful smile on Magda's lips and a devious sparkle in her eye. She was a woman who trafficked in information, and central to her tactics was cultivating intimacy. Yes, the substance of Odina's offering was clear enough, but what Magda sought was that and so much more.
"You'll find, princess, that I am a very curious woman indeed." Magda's voice was soft, only as loud as was necessary to travel the short distance between them, "Might I call on you before your leave for Cambria and I for Coheed? Somewhere we can speak a little more...freely?"

Odina hadn't realized past the lust of wanting a little fun that she had stumbled into a real game now, yet believe it or not a game she started the moment she revealed who she was. Or maybe she knew about the game the second she stepped foot in Nevermere? Her focus blurred by the tunnel vision of time, time had seemingly slowed since then right?
She took freely as well, more horizontal and less perhaps of the current game but Magda surely could have meant exactly for the horizontal free talk. It had all dawned on Odina that she was now truly two halves of a whole person. The daring Cambrian raised and the elegantly lost Nevermere witch, together combined made Otara.
She did have to be more observant of others actions now but oooh did she hope...
"I'll be waiting for your request," she confirmed with a polite smile.

“And you shall have it.” And, with one last lingering look, Magda stepped back and dipped into a curtsy. “I won’t take up any more of your time, princess,” Magda said, once again assuming the efficiency of a courtier. “But you’ll be hearing from me very soon.”
And with that, Magda turned and left. She’d send word to Odina with plans to visit her in the evening. After all, her time in Nevermere would be short, and she planned to make the most of it.
