The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
"Don't thank me with your words, thank me with your work," he said gruffly. He wasn't used to being thanked for taking care of his soldiers. It was his job. That was all. And as a nobleman with no family and no heir, he had the money to spare on a single tutor. He ignored the comment about him being a great lieutenant. Especially the 'despite what people say' comment. She meant well, and he might have laughed if it weren't so obviously true. But again, he never cared what the soldiers thought of him. If Commander Usher thought he was doing a good job, that was all he needed.
Was there anything in particular that she needed to know about politics? He could only think of one. "My only advice is that no matter how much you learn, assume you know nothing, and assume nothing is fact unless you saw it with your own eyes or it was told to you by the source." He grunted. "Oh, and keep your mouth shut. Do those three things, you'll probably be fine. Even if you rank up, soldiers are always kept in the dark to some degree. We go where they point us. Simple as that."
Zahra knew Warren doesn't get thanked as much as he possibly should but that was maybe one of the reasons she wanted to say it. "And I will thank you with my work, even if it means writing you a note of thanks at the end of it." She looked at Warren she wasn't joking about the statement. She would even spend time in between lessons to learn.
"assume nothing and keep my mouth shut. So, at the moment I got the assume nothing down to a point." she laughed she know she can be quiet but she can run her mouth for a mile when she in the mood.
As they arrived once more at the palace, Warren walked ahead, opening any doors they came to and allowing Zarha through them first. "That's acceptable, then," he agreed, nodding his head to anyone they may have passed as they headed toward the military wing. Once they arrived, Warren paused in a hall that led into multiple directions. One was the direction of the offices, the other of the barracks and the mess hall.
"Then I'll have my assistant, Lady Aveline, inform you when everything is set up and give you your new schedule. If you have any further questions, you may ask her then, or come to my office. As this is a personal matter, please wait until outside of exercises to discuss it with me."
Zahra looked at people as they walked along the wings. She know she has a lot to work on and she is trying and it is hard. She was working with every fiber in her military body to do what she can. But Warren is right she need to work hard for herself, not for him. Like she does want to make him proud but she need to be proud of herself however she doesn't know what that feeling feels like not when it come to herself. She is proud of her siblings. At times they can surprise her.
Lady Aveline, she wanted to sigh she wanted him to give it to her, but Zahra did her best to hide the want. "I am looking forward to be headed my new schedual Lietanent." She was honest about that and she was looking forward to meeting the tutor and getting started. She stood there at attention with smile on her face.
Warren was going to leave it at that, even turning to go, but then he paused. "Ms. Sliva, this is a service I am providing to you because you're the first soldier who has spoken to me directly about having the desire to advance in your career in the military, and I can appreciate your drive to better yourself. That said, I cannot afford to pay for tutors for all of the commoner soldiers that I train. So while I'm not making a secret of this, I would prefer you speak modestly about it." Warren knew very well that many commoners would jump at the opportunity to learn to read and write formally, and he couldn't blame them, but he also couldn't support them all. The last thing he needed was someone bragging or making them feel bad on his behalf.
Assuming she understood what he meant, he nodded once more. "If that's all, then, you're dismissed." He turned from her and began down the opposite hallway, heading back toward his office.

Zahra nodded at the words Warren said. "I understand, I won't be bragging about it." She wasn't planning of running her mouth to the soldiers anyway because let face it, outsaid of military traing she don't talk to people in her group on any other matter. plus she didn't want them to feel bad because she always see people advancing in the career and it did make her feel awful so she trained harder with her sword and magic.
Zahra nodded as she was dismissed knowing that lunch was over went to the training ground do some solo training as she had group training this morning.
