The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

for @alinore
Valeria was happy that open court was over, she needed some fresh air though. She would normally go to the military wing after open court and left out some stream however, she can't do that this year. She have to be care for more then herself at the moment in time and it is eating herself a bit plus also fears of everything. However when court finished she did have to dash out of it to throw up, this sickness was hard one. She hope that the sickness calm down soon.
All the thoughts was going in her head was is she going to be a good mum, she never had a mother like figure growing up so she doesn't know the one thing about being one, like she know she have Keir, Hadiran and the rest of the delaney family to help her, she feels like she still need a quick class on Mum 101: how to not fuck up? She already know soon she need to start buying dresses as her belly start to show more. also she is planning loads of things that she hasn't had time to breath, or take all the news in. Like she was happy that Keir was going to be dad, Hadrian going to be a grandpa, but she was going to be a mum hasn't hit her.
She was currently walking around the garden lost in her own thoughts like, she thinks she just forcus on not dying through child birth. her head is running a billion plans her military mind is turning.
Nobles had a way of dispersing to the far corners of the castle and castle grounds after open court. There were, after all, marriages to arrange and political alliances to form and gossip to spread, and each required a distinct lack of listening ears. Alinore had found herself in the gardens, and it came as no surprise to find that she was not alone. A glance to the side revealed to her the pacing figure of one Valeria Delaney, wife of Kier Delaney and a competent soldier in her own right, if she recalled correctly. One had to be, if one bore that particular last name. After a moment, the Minister of Foreign Affairs redirected her steps toward the other woman, approaching her as if they had both been out for a casual stroll. “Lady Delaney,” She greeted the naval officer politely, inclining her head. “A pleasure to see you again. I had wondered if you would be able to attend open court; I come to understand you spend quite a bit of your time out at sea these days.”

Val is a good solider she was top of her group, she is rather young to be a chief petty officer plus she was born an Usher, it wasn't like she had to wait till she was 12 till she wanted to pick up a sword at had and learn how to use it. She looked around after hearing Lady Delaney. It was about around a couple of months since she and Keir got married. Not hearing Lady Usher was still strange to her. Even when she was out at sea it was Officer Delaney. Like it is a nice strange, like her heart burst into joy every time she hears Delaney like yeah she married Keir.
She looked at the voice who spoke "Lady Thornhill, what a pleasant surprise." She smiled softly. "I would of missed it but at the moment work have to be put on hold for several months for me at the moment. going to tough as I love my work." She explained. "How are you doing? what did you think of open court?"
Alinore offered Lady Delaney a polite smile as she fell into step beside the other woman, hands folded neatly in front of her. The officer’s statement that she would be off the water for several months earned her a raised eyebrow. “Is that so?” She inquired pleasantly. “For nothing bad, I hope.” Given that Valeria Delaney was a young, married woman, the Minister of Foreign Affairs naturally had her suspicions as to the cause, but she would let her companion confirm or deny them.
When Delaney asked after her well-being, Alinor inclined her head slightly and glanced to the side. “I am doing quite well, thank you for asking. And yourself?” There was a pause as she considered the events of open court and settled on a response. “Open court was as enlightening as ever,” Alinore began lightly. “But I am curious to hear your thoughts, Lady Delaney. Lord Howell was quite clear with his opinions, but I should think that you, as an officer in His Majesty’s military, would have a more informed perspective on such matters.”

Valeria laughed and shook her head. "no it's for good reason, a great reason really." She blushed softly thinking of it. "i am expecting mine and my husband's first child." She smile she still wasn't showing yet. She placed her hand on her belly, looking over the mood but slightly worried about what to come.
"I am happy to hear you are quite well. I am doing well." Valeria thought for a moment about what Lord Howell have said. "Dresmondi's are going through a lot with the Eldouir. Like if you don't know what really happening over there, it can be quite worrying, we know that the Eldouir have these powers that aren't the same as our witch magic. I do believe though that the king wouldn't of invite the Dresmondi's here if he believed that the people of Nevermere are in any way of immediate danger. Or at least have some sort of plan of action in place. Lord Howell, of course spoke as a concern citizen but how he came about it and the way he spoke it wasn't the best cause of action."
As Delaney placed her hand over her belly and revealed the news, Alinore arranged her features into an expression of pleasant surprise, raising a hand to her mouth to complete the image. A smile, though more reserved than the one on the naval officer’s face, turned the corners of her lips upwards. “Why, that is certainly very exciting news, Lady Delaney,” She agreed easily, letting her hand fall back to her side. “My congratulations to you both. I thought you looked more radiant than usual; you’re positively glowing. May I ask when you are due?”
She listened politely as the other woman explained her thoughts on the situation in Dresmond and Howell’s particular handling of voicing his own concerns. After a moment, she agreed demurely, “I have little doubt as to His Majesty’s ability to temper any threat they might pose, presently or in the future.” Cassian Rainecourt struck her as the type of man who cultivated multiple plans, each with a handful of contingencies, at any given time, and Kenner Caern had all but laid his intentions clear for those keen enough to notice. “I must confess, Lady Delaney, I haven’t heard many specifics as to the plight of the Dresmondi,” Alinore admitted, though she remembered as well as anyone the events of the fateful trial that had led to the Eldouir’s flight from Lorendale.

Val was of course excited because she know that this baby belong to Keir, the light of her world the one person who bring light to the darkness. Her rock, the sails to her ship. The Land to her Sea. "Thank you Lady Thornhill, in my head i am in full officer mode, planning every single detail. I know i can't plan for ever single event stuff like pregnacy there will be twist and stuff that goes unplanned but my navy officer inside me still want to have something in store." Her mind was still ticking over things. "I believe late Aestas we still in early stages of pregnacy but we both so excited about meeting the little one." She was a new generation of Delaney, the next chapter for her and Keir.
"To be fair me neither with being out at sea most of the time, things that happens on land get lost in communication, or one thing happening then when i return like a week or two later something else is happening. It like playing a game of Nevermere whispers. Trying to find way to piece information together to make sense on what is happening here." it is true it feels like everytime she returns on land there something new to catch up on. however as she will be on land for about a year if not more to help raise her child she guess it will give her more chance to get more invold on land and on more political side of things.
“There is wisdom in being well-prepared,” Alinore acknowledged lightly, in response to the officer’s description of her attempts to prepare for every twist and turn pregnancy and subsequent motherhood might throw at her. “But I do hope you pause to enjoy yourself as well. Pregnancy, I hear, is a unique time in every woman’s life.” Late Aestas was still some time away. The other lady had plenty of time to prepare for the new arrival - or fret over it, whichever suited her.
Lady Delaney would understand, to a certain extent, the challenges inherent with remaining aware of happenings in Nevermere whilst spending time away from the capital itself, Alinore allowed. “One does what one can,” She mused, before arching an elegant eyebrow in the officer’s direction. “As of late, it seems as though you have spent more of your time around the castle.” She inclined her head slightly toward the other woman’s belly. “Have any of Nevermere’s whispers been particularly interesting?”

Valeria smiled as she placed a hand on her belly. "I am planning to enjoy every second of this. I can already tell that this one going to be loved so much by both me and their father. Well all the family really." she smiled it had been an experience for sure so for. like Keir's aunt and mum and dad knows, Hadrian knows, Temp, Ber and now Alinore knows soon the news probably be around the castle that she is expecting.
She laughs softly at alinore indicating towards her being arond the castle cause she pregnant. Like yeah she was expecting but she doesn't want to sit at home for several months to the baby to arrive. "Since my arrival onto lands, from what i heard the king want to try and understand there been talks about Nevermere involvement in Lorendale."
“Of course,” Alinore agreed lightly. “They are lucky to have you both as parents. I would hardly expect your child to be wanting for love.” Pleasantries. Born into a family as large and well off as the Delaneys, the baby would be wanting for nothing.
It was Lady Delaney’s next comment that piqued her interest, however. “Talks of Nevermere’s involvement in Lorendale?” She considered this for a moment. “And what have these talks entailed?”

Val was so looking forward to welcoming this baby into the world. the more she talks about it the more real it feels for her till she traced the necklace that Hadrian gave her when she was 18 years old. she can't believe how much has happened in 6 years since getting this necklace. feeling the presence of her mum near by.
"Just questioning about how much involvement they giving Lorendale. the help they been offering is silly. however, i believe that they doing what they can on the agreements. I am sure if Nevermere neaded the help, Lorendale will come to our aid. From what I've been told of Lorendale people and that there more people like the Eldouirs. I belief they are called gifted. They have unique powers and can be really helpful when and if needed."
“There is discontent among our people about the assistance that we have offered our sister kingdom?” Alinore confirmed, tucking that piece of information away so she might consider it more thoroughly at a later time. She remembered, when Cassian married Iliana, concerns of split loyalties and attention as their king became monarch of two kingdoms, but she would have expected it to have settled by now. “Have they offered any specific reason for their unhappiness?”
On Lorendale’s military prowess and the existence of more gifted individuals like the Eldouir, she made a considering noise. “Hopefully they are not too much like the Eldouir,” Alinore mused, tone dry. “Do you know much about the gifted and their powers, Lady Delaney? I find myself rather curious about it all.”

"from what i gathered from some of the soldiers who board the ships, they are worried, trusting where the true loyalties lies, even after it is proven that King Cassian's loyalties are both to us and To Lorendale. Plus i feel some wonder about the Queen. Like personally I haven't had the honor of interacting with her of yet but from what I've heard she doing a great job learning about our culture." She smiled softly.
"I hope not too. from from i've learnt over the past couple of years is that they are born with a gift and they are unique. though some have simility but each carries a uniqueness. Some gift are healing, manipulation all the way to elemental gift from encounts i've heard from soldiers." She explained
Alinore tilted her head slightly at the admission. “Have your sailors given any specific reasons for their concerns?” She asked, tone light and curious. “Has anything occurred which might make them doubt His Majesty’s dedication to Nevermere?” As very little time had passed between Cassian’s marriage and her own departure to Arynn Frey, the noblewoman had had almost no opportunity to speak with their young queen. “Nevermere and Lorendale are not entirely dissimilar, though I imagine there is still much to learn,” She mused idly. “Nevertheless, dedication to the kingdom of one’s marriage does not go unnoticed.” On the other kingdom’s gifted population, Alinore nodded her understanding.

Valeria thought for a moment "I believe they just proud Nevermere soldiers who don't want any outside influence. but like you said they could be things we can learn from Lorendale. They have things we can learn from, and different outlooks on things. Some of them could be very useful on things." She then thinks about if there was anything that Cassian had done that could have made them question. "this comes from both personal and my official perspective on things his Majesty have been doing great, his loyalty suggests that he still thinking of Nevermere upmost safety at all time. Unless the soldiers have seen anything different to suggest other wise they haven't told me." Maybe because they knew that she would correct them.
"yeah it doesn't I hope one day I can have the pleasure of meeting her majesty. She seems to be really nice and great Queen." She smiled and being a mother to two kids she might be able to talk to her about kids herself on suggestions.
