The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
As she got back to her feet, her heart was racing, beating loudly in her ears. She winced at it, but nodded as she caught her breath. It wasn't the quick, unfinished spar that had drained the air from her lungs. It was the memory that left her breathless.
"Yeah," she pushed her long hair away from her face and nodded again, trying to assure herself more than Embric. "Yeah, I'm okay." She reiterated, hands on her hips. "I just...got a little winded, I think, been training a lot lately so I'm probably more tired than I normally would be."
"You can tell Embric the truth, Xanthe. He would understand." Savi reminded her, but she glanced down at him and he knew she wasn't quite ready to voice what Taz had done to her.
"I've gotta get back to work," she dusted herself off as she took a long, deep breath. "But we'll keep working at our thing, and you keep working at yours, and we'll meet again when we've figured it out, right?" Her eyes turned once more to the damaged trees, trying to put her thoughts to something else. "See you soon."
With that, she turned and walked away, rubbing her arm anxiously as she slipped back into the streets of Elderkeep.
Embric eyed Xan for a moment as she caught her breath and he caught his. She nodded, even verbally confirmed her well-being, but she still looked shaken. As it became clear that the spar would not continue, he lowered his fists and watched her with more concern. He wasn’t convinced, but he was willing to let the matter drop.
She was quick to change the subject, and he nodded his agreement. “Yes, we’ll do that. Be safe, Xan.”
“Look after her, Savi.”
And then they were gone. Embric held out an arm for Aine to land upon, and as he transferred her to his opposite shoulder, he turned blue eyes back toward the tree with a sigh.
