[For @alec]
It seemed like ages since Elliot had last seen his brothers. It was generally known that the man didn't really see eye to eye with the two other kids his mother had put on this earth. Still, every so often the three of them would try again to come together in peace but it never lasted long before Elliot pissed them off, or they pissed him off. Bernard and Clarence were good buddies though, so there was no doubt in Elliot's mind that the men gossiped about him behind his back. The troubles of being a middle child. A middle child that didn't join the military, contrary to his brothers. None of them had visited Mordha since the baronet had opened the doors to his new club, and it did sting a little. He had plenty of other things on his mind though, so he tried not to think about it too much.
A thing had happened though, recently. It had caught him by surprise. When the older man went downstairs after a good night's sleep, his butler Vern had handed him a letter. It was from someone he hadn't thought of in a while. Alec Abernathy. He knew the younger man through his younger brother Clarence. He was ware that they were in the military together -- or something along those lines. He couldn't remember exactly, but as far as he knew, Alec was now a royal guard. The two of them had met many years ago at a tavern. Alec had been enjoying a drink with Clarence and Elliot had stopped by to give something to his brother. Once again, he didn't remember what that thing was, or why Clarence had needed it. Elliot had started talking to Alec, and the rest is history. But this is starting to sound too much like a long-lost love story, and that's not what it is.
Elliot and Alec had went gambling and drinking quite a lot whenever they were free but somehow they had lost track of each other when Elliot had become more occupied with running his father's business, especially after the man passed away. He didn't know why Alec had suddenly written him, but it was a pleasant surprise. Lord Moore had responded by inviting his old friend to his new gentleman's club Mordha. That way he could show off one of his achievements and still enjoy a nice drink with an old pal.
That evening Elliot found himself seated at the bar inside the big hall. Lloyd was behind the bar mixing up drinks and talking to customers. The whiskey in front of the greying man remained untouched for the time being. He would get to it later. For now he was waiting for Alec to show up.
