The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

King Cassian wanted a barrier.
It wasn't as much of a challenge as it would have been to conceive of ten years ago. It wasn't that Arynn Frey's mastery of enchantments had improved beyond all recognition, so much as they had already been using and practicing such enchantments for quite some time within their own nation as they constructed their wall. Indeed, the queen wasn't entirely sure that Cassian hadn't been inspired by their efforts when he had come to ask her for something to protect his palace with. Naturally, Kimora was comprehensive. She didn't much like the way things were heading, especially with that nutcase of a gifted on their doorstep, especially not one who could essentially teleport. She couldn't exactly judge when she herself had ordered the construction of a wall to protect her entire nation against the threat.
Whatever the case, in the interests of maintaining good relations, the queen had agreed. As such, she had summoned two of her most senior and experienced enchanters and their apprentices to the palace. "In essence, what the king wants is something capable of keeping out anyone who might seek to teleport inside his palace. No need for a barrier against physical attacks, the witches can deal with those. He will however also be requiring some portkeys which will allow those who have them to get past the barrier. We'll start off with a half-dozen, if he needs more, we can make them then and there." The queen would pause for a moment before adding more quietly. "It might, naturally be best, if we also had a portkey, should the king ever need to call on our help."
The woman would add one more thing. "I realize the constraints we're under but I would like this enterprise not to impact the construction of our own wall if possible."
