[ For Annabeth Porter ]
Severine had received a letter. One that...intrigued her.
It was not all that uncommon for the nobility to reach out to her. Although only a baroness, she had made a name for herself as a music and singing instructor in the past few years. Nobles at all levels requested her guidance, but more often than not, it was for their children.
On this occasion, the requested meeting was for an adult. A marchioness. "Well, it would be rude of me not to grant her a meeting, at the very least," Severine mused to herself from the comfort of an over-sized chair. Lips protruding thoughtfully, she nodded once to herself. "I just hope she won't mind my honesty."
As she stood, a young woman hurried over to her and held out a silver platter on which Severine rested the letter. "Send a reply, arrange a time for us to meet. Soon, please. Oh, and I might like to look for something new to wear for the visit."
"Of course, my lady," the servant said quietly, dipped her head, and disappeared from the room.
When the day finally came, Severine made her way to the Andino manor by way of carriage. She rode alone, readying her mind for the interaction. She had done as much research as possible in the days leading up to their meetings. Marchioness Annabeth Andino was rumored to be a kind woman, devoted to her family. She had recently been seen aiding the Lady Steward Scout Kane in a meeting meant to facilitate the co-existence and peace between the gifted and non-gifted citizens of Lorendale. Severine had no idea where the woman personally stood, that much was unclear but if all went well, perhaps it would be clarified during their visit.
There was also that...small matter of the Hiram Eldouir trial. Severine and Sebastian had just made their way back to Lorendale when it was happening, and Severine knew that Annabeth had been involved.
As they arrived to the manor, the driver helped her out of the carriage and she straightened her dress. It was a deep burgundy in color, with stripes of gold around the modest neckline and bottom. The sleeves were tight around her arms, ending at her wrist rather than hanging over her hands - how she hated for her sleeves to get in the way. A corset tightened her waist-line and simple, golden jewelry with deep red jewels decorated her neck and ears. Her hair was braided and wrapped in an elegant, loose hive at the back of her head.
Approaching the entrance, she was greeted and let into the manor by servants to whom she said little, but acknowledged by nodding. She did not let her eyes wander around the manor. "Will Marchioness Andino be long? I'm aware I've arrived a tad early. I like to be punctual," she asked of the servant escorting her.
