The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
The grin that split across Adeline's face was one of pure joy. She had expected Elena to tell her it was a silly idea, that they had more important things to focus on, like this impending war that was supposedly rapidly approaching.
She pulled herself up onto the bed, turning to face Elena as she tucked her legs beneath her. "I'm sure Hiram and Drystan won't be very pleased with the idea, but to hell with them." She tapped at her chin, now in full planning mode. "We can have the soldiers clear an area so Donovan could craft a ballroom. Obviously our chefs can cook the meal. I'm quite certain there are musicians among the Dresmondi that we can use for music."
She continued tapping at her chin, tilting her head slightly, "They won't have dresses and suits like we did, but that may be an exception we have to make. I'm sure Donovan draws the line at making clothing for every Dresmondi in the city." Her grin turned more conspiratorial as she focused her attention on Elena, waiting for her input.

To hell with them. The idea of it made Elena only more excited. Sometimes half of the fun was in going against what other people might prefer. They could both kiss their asses. All of Adeline's ideas were perfect and Elena was eager to accept them.
She hummed at the thought of their clothing. "Yes, we can let that go," she began. "OH! Or we could use some of the plant dresmondi to help us craft flower crowns or flowered pins or flower necklaces or something, just to class it up a little. The dresmondi could pick out whatever flower arrangement they want as they enter." Maybe it was a stupid idea. She waved it off dismissively with her hand as an indication that they could take it or leave it.
"I imagine the dancing will be more lively than in Lorendale," the thought made her grin. "But we could demonstrate the steps of one of our common dances if we wanted."
Brilliant. All of Elena's ideas were brilliant and Adeline nodded along to them all. "I love it. It's such a good idea. We should go find one of the boys and tell them about it." After all, they were the Queens, and they didn't need to ask permission. They simply needed to put the plans into motion.
"Perhaps the Dresmondi will be even more fun. After all, like you said, the Lorendalers were always so uptight," she wiggled her brows at Elena. "Certainly, it will show them how lucky they are to have us." She leaned towards Elena, perching precariously on her knees, the excitement overtaking her a bit. "We should get started right away."

Elena felt giddy with excitement, much the way she had many years ago going to her first ever ball. Once the collars were removed and they forced themselves to no longer be seen as slaves to the ungifted population. It had been such a delight to pick out her dress and to step into a room were she could partake of the finery of it all. It had become nearly addicting after that. She delighted in savoring all that she could take from high society.
She bounced on her knees on the bed, eyes sparkling and a girlish laugh escaping her queenly lips. "Yes! Let's! We'll put our plans into motion immediately!" Though she hoped to gave a ball ready quickly, she couldn't yet know that Hiram would soon be barging into dinner one day and stirring them all up to violence instead. "Let's make a list of everything we'll need to do!" she scrambled off the bed to pull a piece of parchment from the desk as she began to scribble a list.
