[For Eirwen & Yule ]
The sun was just passing its highest point in the sky. For an autumna day, it was fairly warm. Aydin was training a bit with their daggers, twirling around and swinging her arms in different directions, pretending to slash and dodge enemies. Ember was sitting on the trunk of a tree that had fallen over many years ago. The little rodent was just watching while Aydin moved around. His little ear twitched once, but apart from that you'd think he was a statue. He was good at sitting extremely still.
The Dresmondi practiced a bit more before deciding to head over to the center of Elderkeep to see if there was something to do there. They hadn't been hunting yet that day and they were craving some watery fruit to hydrate after her training session. "Wanna go for some snacks?" they asked Ember. The rodent looked up and without doubting a second, he jumped from the trunk on her shoulder. Don't mind if we do. A small smile appeared on her face. Then she put the dagger on the belt she was wearing and started making their way down to the center.
Once there, Aydin could see that even thought it was early in the afternoon, there were already people sitting around the great fire. She'd go hunting later, meaning she'd also he roasting her food at the fire later. For now they were just looking around, trying to see if anyone was selling any food. They saw someone sitting on the ground with some trinkets and food in front of them. "Will you distract them?" she asked Ember. Once more, without doubting a second, he jumped over the blanket and landed near the trader. The man jumped up, thinking it was a rat, and tries to hit Ember away. Luckily he missed, but Aydin had been sure that Ember would have been successful at dodging him. He was a quick animal. "Excuse me, that's my dyr, he has a bit too much energy", Aydin said while bending down to pick up Ember. In the same movement, she grabbed some apples from the blanket and hid them in her sleeve. With a kind smile she left the man and power-walked away with Ember sitting on her shoulder. They let themselves fall down a little further away, against the wall of a caravan. There, they bit into the apple.
