The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

She handed his jacket back to her when he requested it, wincing again at the amount of dirt in the lining. She did not envy whoever had to clean that up. She hoped it wouldn't be her. She wanted nothing more than to take a hot bath and get into some clean clothes. So when he told her to get cleaned up and warm, she straightened up at attention and chirped, "Yes sir!"
When he told her that she'd have more training and chores the following week because of the curse she cast during her training, her face fell, "Yes sir. Good day, sir," she said with a lot less enthusiasm and a lot more kicking of herself. She'd done that YEARS ago...and gotten away with it, too. She realized that she had gotten too comfortable while talking to him, too eager to glean any kind of knowledge that he had to impart and had gotten too loose-lipped. She should have kept her mouth shut.
At least, she told herself, she'd gotten some advice on how curses could and should be used in war.
She shivered, a reminder that she was still wet and muddy from earlier. She sighed, looked at the ground, then hurried toward the barracks to get cleaned up.
