The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Zarha's expression was a series of mixed emotions as she maintained an honest but positive answer. This definitely got him thinking that maybe she'd rather listen or talk about something else. Why was she asking about his family? He didn't think he should ask about hers if it took the smile away from her.
"Well, my father is a stern and very disciplined man and a hard worker and my mother and I are very proud of him. Ever since he made Captain, he's dedicated his life to the service of Nevermere." He answered, the smile leaving his face and he looked down at the table.
The waitress returned with an expensive bottle of wine and two glasses and set them on the table. She smiled, seeing two people so obviously on a first date and it made her job a little happier.
"Here's your drinks and your food will be out shortly. If there's anything else you need, don't hesitate to ask for me. I'm Martha."

Seeing the smile fall from his face if he let him reached for his hand and give him a smiled. She doesn't want him to stop smiling, she love his smile "He sound like an amazing father." She was clearly interested about him. Her young eyes look up at him, clearly wanting to get to know him more. His family seems amazing. She tried to think of another question her eyes was memorized by his face.
"Have anybody told you, that you look amazing when you smile? espically with those dimples?" Blushing as she complimented him. She was thankful that Martha came with the drinks. "Thank you Martha." smiling as she watched the woman pour the drinks for them both. Zarha noticing that they was interested in how their date was going, which made Zarha giggle as she turned her face away slightly. Not from embarrassment.
When she put her little hand on his, he went still, feeling the warmth of it and looked at her eyes again. He nodded silently at her amazing father comment and wondered if that was how she felt about her own mother.
Zarha's question caught him off guard and he looked away, flushing red to the tips of his ears. "No. Um .. er.. never." he mumbled, clearly embarrassed. That was supposed to be the kind of thing he was thinking about her! But he hadn't said it. Why did he have to be so awkward at this? He saw the waitress finally turn to leave, glad that she wasn't watching him fumble like a newborn foal trying to walk.
He reached for the wine glass and took a sip in distraction, trying to get his one brain cell back into gear and come up with something to say.

Zarha didn't expect him to go still at her touch, biting her inner cheek she feels warm she slowly moved her hand away slightly but just enough that their fingertips were brushing. She looked down for a moment grateful that Martha was going for a bit.
She was surprised that nobody told Tors that he looked cute smiling, she thought that a man like him would hear it at least one hundred times a day. Have a long line of women trying to impress him. Blushing she felt like she has something in her throat, so she take a sip of her wine. "Them.. let me umm.. be the first."
Tor closed his fingers over her tiny hand, not wanting her to pull away. After a few more sips of wine, he managed to get his brain working again and he said,
"I'm just not really a smiley kind of person I guess." He shrugged and wasn't sure what to do or say about the compliment. The tall young man wasn't the flirty type and his entire role in life was to simply be a soldier. Pursuing anything other than that, was entirely new to him.
His dark brown eyes were drawn to Zarha like a magnet and he returned his own question at her,
"Has anyone ever told you how lovely you are when you breathe?"

When Tors took her hands in his she smiled not wanting to let go. Her hand wrap round his. His hand felt warm, strong, sturdy. Even though the wine was good the company was indeed better then the beverage.
She hopes even though he not a smiley type she will see more of his smile. On top of his work ethics his smile just melts her heart like honey. It was sweet and smoothing. "Well I hope I can see it more." She was thankful that the wine was helping with the words.
When he compliment her she take her free hand and cupped a cheek, shaking her head. "Never." Her eyes looked towards their hands as she was rubbing her thumb against his smiling before she was drawing her eyes back at him.
There was something about her that just made Tor smile back automatically in response. It was new emotion for him, though everyone else just called it happy.
"I find it hard to believe that no one has called you lovely. They've met you right?" he attempted a joke. "Maybe if--"
Tor was interrupted by the waitress returning with their first course and it had only just occured to him that they hadn't ordered anything else yet. It was Zarha's fault for that--she was so pretty, he just couldn't think straight!
"Here you are" Said Martha, setting down the bowls. "Let me know when you're ready to order your main course."

Hearing him joke made her laugh slightly, she hardly laugh so for to do so must means she feels comfortable round Tors. It felt nice that she felt comfortable with somebody to laugh with them. "I guess they haven't mat me." His smile on his face makes being comfortable even easier. When he started with a what if she was intrigued with what he was going to say, however he trailed off when Martha came back with their first course.
First course?? of course?? Damn Tors, so attractive that he was making her be forgetful. "Thank you, we will do." She smiled as she watched Martha nod and walked away. "This looks amazing." The onion soup looked like it was great quality and smelt divine.
Her eyes trail up to his gaze, "What was you about to say? what if...?"
Torsten thought he'd have a chance to ask her before food got here but the waitress showed up. He reined in a little self control not to dig right in the moment food arrived. Tor didn't want to scare her off with his appetite. He looked at her with hopeful big brown eyes and asked,
"What if we use this time to plan a second date?" he asked, trying very hard not to drool at the scent of food in front of him. The only expression of a werewolf within, was his enormous hunger and he put off eating in front of her until he could get a shot at a second date.

She was about to tuck into her soup when he asked if they should plan their second date. If she could blush anymore then she already have been she would be. Her smile was wide at the thought of a second date with this man in front of her. She was surprise that he wanted a second date with her. She look towards his hopeful brown eyes with hers, her eyes were full with excitement and nod.
"Yeah I would love to plan our second date." She carefully took the spoon closer to her lips and softly blows to cool it down.
Unable to resist a moment longer, he picked up the bowl in his large hands, and blew on it once. He raised the bowl to his mouth and downed it rapidly in three large swallows. Setting it on the table and dismissing it, he wiped his mouth on his arm. That soup bowl might as well have been nothing more than a child's cup of miniature tea in his hands and it was gone before the scent left the air.
"What would be a good place for a second date?" he asked, watching as she ate daintily with a spoon.

Zarha watched as he basically downed the soup, she was impressed by it. Looking at him with a smile on her face. It wasn't one full on judgement but wonder on what else he could do with that mouth.... Blushing at the thought that just came across her mind. AS she was eating her soup to distract herself.
She thought for a bit, trying to think of a perfect second date for them to. "We can go for a stroll, a hike. Somewhere where it just us two with no waitress to interrupt us?"
Tor nodded at Zarha, glad that she'd come up with a good idea.
"That sounds just right." He agreed. The smell of food was everywhere and his eyes roamed to the diners nearby, enjoying their meals. He was ravenous and that stupidly tiny(normal sized) bowl had only whetted his sharp appetite for more. Maybe it wasn't exactly a great way to act on a first date, but when food was involved, Tor just couldn't help it.
"Well she could interrupt right now so we could order more food--I wouldn't mind that." Tor answered absently, his ravenous gaze on other people's food.

She looked around as she noticed he was looking around. Smiling she placed her spoon down and carefully picked up her spoon and started blowing it and started drinking it being careful not to get her down her. It took a few more gulps then Tor did. However, she managed to down it. Giving him a flirtatious wink as she finished.
She picked up the napkin and get some of the soups that was on her lips. "Main sounds amazing right about now." She want to keep up with him.
Zarha's movements caught in his peripheral vision and he turned his dark gaze back on her, feeling ashamed. She was eating like everyone else there but he just had to go acting stupid about food again. Why did he always do that? There really wasn't anything he could do about it thought. Rations were just dirt bars as far as he was concerned, and not exactly real food. Maybe coming to a food place wasn't such a good idea. He flushed red and tried to reassure her,
"I'm sorry I get kind of stupid and greedy with food." Tor looked down, feeling like an oaf. "You were eating normally--I didn't mean to spoil it for you."
