The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
In her private workshop, Calliope stared at the three sets of wings laid out on her workshop tables. She did not often do such large scale enchanting so she was rather excited for this project that she had promised to Isolde. Though she was not going into this blind, having consulted on her plans for the wings with Evander. They were wings for 3 women of Isolde's choosing who would use them to fly into battle. That had been what was discussed with the Cambrian woman. Unknown to Isolde, there would be a hidden rune that only Calliope and Evander knew of so that the wings could not be used against the Blackwoods or Arynn Frey. The blueprints with this addition had never left her enchanting table and would be destroyed after.
Item to be created: 3 pairs of Battle Wings: Enchanted non-metal wings that are capable of flight and can fold down into a flat mechanism worn on the back. Activated by runes on the straps that attach to the torso of who wears it. Has a secret, hidden rune for deactivation and can only be known/activated by the matching rune held by Calliope and Evander remotely. Item rank: Uncommon Time to complete: 6 OOC weeks (3 weeks for the first pair to be done) Completion date: 3/16/23 Number of replies: 5 replies *Details determined by Eloell. If you would like to create a combative or large scale enchantment, DM Eloell.
The materials were laid out as she idly flipped her tool up and down over and over. Three sets of wings laid out on each table, which one to start with was the question. It would be the tester to make sure that everything went smoothly and once she had the kinks worked out, the enchanting of the other two pairs would go much faster. She dropped her tool on to the first table, decision made and grabbed the gem she'd selected ahead of time for this particular project. Calliope flicked down the glasses that were sitting on her head to cover her eyes as she leaned over the first set of wings.
Calliope was bent over her table, leaning over the center body where the wings would fold into and fold out whenever they were activated. The bulk of the enchantment schematic was going to sit here on this part of the mechanism. Everything here was going to be doing the heavy lifting according to the schematic she'd been sweating over with Evander to make it perfect.
For the finer details, Calliope pulled out a set of specs and flipped the first two lenses down to magnify what she was looking at. Tiny details that needed precision and focus that her regular eyesight wouldn't give her. Some of the necessary bindings of the enchantment were very tiny and she hunched over the project even with the glasses magnifying things for her. Good thing she had a steady hand.
Calliope pulled two small, simple rings out of her pocket and set them on the table by the wings. It had taken some time to decide on what would hold the matching deactivation rune for the wings. A third lens flipped down and she set to work on them.
With the first set of wings finished, it was an easier time of setting the enchantments into the other two pairs of wings. She had the blueprint and the first finished product so all she had to do was repeat the process. It went a little more quickly for each pair and soon all three were laid out and ready to go.
