ACACIA SCORZA
GENERAL
Age: Twenty-six
Birth Season: Fall
Occupation: Florist/dye and pigment vendor
Kingdom: Lorendale
Citizen Status: Baroness
PHYSICAL
Weight: 128 lbs
Body Description: Acacia is a very beautiful, sensual woman with a curvy body. She isn't particularly strong or muscular but that doesn't mean that she can't be a tough cookie. She keeps her hair mostly at shoulder-length, and most of the time she has curls although sometimes the curls are a bit more kinky if she wants to change it up. Her appearance is well-kept and she always tries to show off her natural beauty to the best of her abilities, combined with beautiful dresses. In the colder months of the year, she's often seen wearing her signature red coat.
PERSONAL
Aspirations/Ambitions: Achieving greatness, combined with the rule of the Gifted
Like the other Scorza's, Acacia feels like the Gifted are a superior race. She wants the Gifted, bur more particularly the Scorza's to achieve greatness and get the recognition they deserve. It's time for the non-Gifted to be the collared ones, and to serve the Gifted. Ideally, the entirety of Terra Nova should bend the knee for the Gifted and let them rule the world as one big kingdom. She's not a leader, but she does see herself as a second-hand if they would get the opportunity to rule over the lesser citizens. She would want to have an influential voice, but not have all the responsibility and burdens that come with being the leader.
Alignment: Chaotic evil
Reputation: As Acacia Barlowe, she is known as a beautiful, somewhat mysterious woman that focuses on her business a lot. She's a true entrepreneur and strives to be the best in her branch. She actively seeks out the best opportunities and will try to 'reason' with everyone, although this might be in the form of subtle manipulation. She won't allow anyone to walk over her.
For those who know her as Acacia Scorza, they will know what she's truly like. Fierce, strong-minded and ambitious. People that don't serve the purpose of the Scorza's are irrelevant and a burden to her. If a non-Gifted were to cross her at the wrong place and time, she won't hesitate to show them just how irrelevant they are to her. She can be truly evil, as she enjoys seeing the non-Gifted suffer like the Gifted have for so long.
Combat Experience: Her father, Aristille, trained her as he deemed it necessary for a woman to be able to defend herself, even though Scorza women are seen as extremely powerful individuals. She wasn't trained to use swords, knives or bows. Instead, her father trained to use a rapier/saber. An elegant weapon for an elegant woman. As far as hand-to-hand combat goes, she does know how to land a punch but she prefers using a rapier or her Gift.
MAGIC
Venomous bite - Acacia has venom glands in her gums that release venom onto her teeth. She has control over these glands and can decide when she releases the venom. A bite won't be deadly, but could result in inflammation, irritation and discomfort. These symptoms are similar to those of a black widow spider bite, which include cramping pain and muscle stiffness. There may also be weakness, tremors, or paralysis, especially in the legs.
Webs - These webs are similar to a regular spider's web. They can hold light-weight objects. The webs are created in an organ within her body and come out of her fingertips, which also allows her to weave them.
Enhanced strength - Like a spider, she can hold items that are a few times her own weight. However, this is not limitless. On average, she has three times the strength of a man, but holding heavy items is not without struggle. She'd be able to tip over a carriage, but not hold it effortlessly or for a long period of time.
Enhanced eyesight/darkvision - Acacia's eyes are adapted to be able to see in the dark. This comes in handy when she finds herself in dim surroundings, allowing her to be able to spy on people in the dark without being noticed. Although spiders often have multiple sets of eyes, she does only has one set (two eyes), which means her darkvision isn't as elaborate as an actual spider's.
The ability to crawl up walls - Spiders have little, tiny hairs on their legs, called setules, that trigger a sort of chemical reaction when touching a surface, allowing them to climb it. They don't actually dig into the surface they're walking on. The tiny, almost invisible hairs that a human has on their body work the same way like spider's setules in Acacia's case. This allows her to crawl on surfaces and walls.
HISTORY
Mother - Lucretia Scorza (deceased), father - Aristille Scorza (possibly deceased, no contact)
Twin sibling - unknown
Cousins - Tallis Scorza , Cezar Scorza , @severine , @sebastian
Tale:
Like most other Scorza mothers, Lucretia died when she gave birth to her set of twins. Acacia, as the oldest and female twin, got to stay with her father, who would raise her and teach her the values of the family. Her twin, who she has no memories of, was sent to live with relatives. She wasn’t raised in Loren but instead lived in a smaller village, closer to the border with Dresmond.
Later in life, she would learn that her mother had been a pigment vendor who took a liking to the acacia flowers and the pigments that she could make out of the bark of the plant. For that reason, her mother had decided that her daughter would be named after the yellow flower. The name would prove to be a fitting one: while the acacia is a beautiful flower, its thorns are deceiving and painful. Although she never got to bond with her mother, it caused her to love her mother deeply.
Aristille told her the stories of the Scorza family and taught her the history of the Gifted. It was the backbone of who she would become. He trained her to be good with a rapier/saber so she could defend herself even before her Gift started to show its potential.
By the time she was eight, her father would understand that there was a manipulative and dark side to his daughter, but he did not mind this side. In fact, he encouraged it for it would be a useful trait when fighting for the Scorza name. She would lie to people, manipulate them into giving her what she wanted and through fake tears she would smile and thank them. The darkness that came along with it would only fuel the hatred she felt towards the lesser people that collared them for so long.
Harsh words and discussions were not uncommon between the father and daughter. That being said, Aristille had made a vow to never be physically violent towards his daughter, and he kept this vow. Often they would have to walk away from a situation to not explode and hurt the other with their words and behavior, but over all the bond between daughter and father was an understanding and loving one, although discipline and respect were also in order.
When she turned twenty-one, her father told her to move to Loren. She knew how to act like a barones now, and she would assume this position under the fake last name that she had been introducing herself with her entire life: Barlowe. He would stay where they had lived for the entirety of her childhood and it was now time for her to go live her own life. They farewell was formal and cold, for no real reasons, and after that she barely ever checked in with him again. For someone who felt such anger for the history (of the Gifted), she was quite good at just letting the past be the past and not be sentimental about leaving her father behind.
During her childhood, her father had of course mentioned her twin, but didn’t tell her their whereabouts or who they were. Acacia wants to find them, but doesn’t know where to start looking or if the twin is even still alive. Her father didn’t know either. He didn’t keep in touch with the twin as they were being raised by extended family or Scorza-supporters and they would get the upbringing that was necessary.
Acacia moved to Lorendale and set up shop there herself. She lived outside of the walls in a humble manor, but would go to the city almost every day where she had a flower shop. Her mother’s love for flowers and pigments had been passed down to her. Additionally, sometimes she also sells fabrics.
