[ For Akagi Llewellyn, before the Eldouir attack on the wall ]
His first trip to Elyusian had shown him just how different the cities of Arynn Frey were. Illianar was not quite so cold during the night, even in Hiems, but he supposed that was due to the distance inland. Faanor was even warmer this time of the year, but as Elyusian sat right against the ocean, the cool sea winds whipped the skin like cracked leather.
Normally, by now, he would have been carried off to his room by Nephys, the bighorn ram grumbling the whole way. But after six or seven ales and a glass of whiskey, the small back room of the tavern had felt hot and cramped. Kaveri had forced his way past his tired dyr and exited the tavern to cool down. He'd only intended to take a short walk and then return to the tavern, but as he stumbled around, he realized quickly that in the dark of night, he'd lost his way. The streets and buildings all looked the same and he couldn't even find the library he'd been working on for nearly two days now.
"Shit," the drunken Dresmondi said out loud, leaning against the wall of a darkened building. "No idea where I'm at."
"You're speaking out loud, Kaveri. People will think you've gone crazy."
Kaveri gestured around them dramatically, spinning in a circle once. "What people?" He pointed up at the night sky, where the moon rested behind some wispy clouds. "The only one here to watch us is the moon."
"There's a man right over there," the dyr, long since fed up with his Dresmondi's, said with a huff. Air shot from his nose and could be seen like steam thanks to the cold.
"Oh, good," Kaveri slurred. "Maybe he can tell me how to get back."
An anxiety that Kaveri could be bothered with crept it's way into Nephys's mind. A strange Arynnite lurking about in the dark hardly seemed like the kind of person they should be approaching, but at least in the event of an attack of some kind, there was plenty of water in the air to utilize in their defense.
Without inhibitions, Kaveri stumbled over toward the man, pausing under one of the street lanterns and squinting his eyes to get a good look at the guy. "Hey, uhh..." Kaveri had no idea how to address random people in Arynn Frey, so he settled on "sir, could you tell me - there's this tavern somewhere. It's not far from that library that got damaged in that storm not long ago. It's on the same street. I think it's called...Whiskers..George...John"
"Whiskey Juan's," Nephys said from behind Kaveri, and the Dresmondi snapped his fingers. "That's right, Whiskey Juan's. I'm lost. Can't find it to save my ass."
