The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

The day had come! Akagi had received the beautiful slab of black stone that currently stood over 9ft in height and 7ft wide it covered a great deal of the sparring ring within his workshop. He was dressed in workers clothes and was surveying his stone tools as he waited for his partner on the project @calanthe , their first phase of the Stone Sentry Guard was finding it's shape within the stone a step would possibly be their longest challenge of the project. To prepare for the challenge that lay a head Akagi had personally prepared the room by hanging sheets of cloth around the room he had done the same with the floors, chiseling tools of various sizes and uses were laid so perfectly on a table nearest the stone, and their actual notes they worked on together were also safely covered and out of the way of the mess surely to come.
Item to be created: Stone Sentry Guard - this is a joint team of Akagi Llewellyn and @calanthe they will be creating a fully made from stone guard. It's a little over 6' and weighs about 350 lbs. The Sentry has a stone club in one hand and a stone shield in the other, it has a combat score of 20. As of now once it's completed it's primary function is to simply guard it's target, it will guard continuously as in once it is completed and turned on destruction is the only way to deactivate the enchantment. (Basic functions include: patrolling small areas, standing between it's defendant and attacker, guarding doors). It primarily obeys The Prince, the stone guard is then under verbal command of the Prince through a soul gem in the head connected to a necklace which doubles as the marker to tell the guard who to protect. Item rank: Shrine Enchantment Time to complete: 11 OOC weeks Completion date: June 7th 2023 Number of replies: 7 *Details determined by Eloell. If you would like to create a combative or large scale enchantment, DM Eloell.
Calanthe was overjoyed to be working on this enchantment. Not only because of how amazing it was, but because she was working with Prince Akagi. It meant that this project would go well with both their geniuses combined. Two heads were often better than one, and in this case it would bring about better protection for Arynn Frey.
Ready for the grueling task, Calanthe picked up a chiseling tool, ready to dive in with her usual passion.
Enchanting with Prince Akagi Llewellyn was a fascinating process. She had never worked with anyone outside of her uncle, and she was taking in every moment. Of course she also had to focus on the project at hand, which was immense in just about every way.
But the form was finally starting to take place, painstakingly slow, but there all the same. The head was certainly the hardest part, but she was finally finished, taking a triumphant step back and looking over at her partner in crime. Well not that this was a crime or anything.

Akagi was adamantly working on the arms and torso of the stone Sentry Guard, their passion for this project was evident in their work. They had given him a name, Grimlock, actually Calanthe had given it a name and Akagi was onboard with the name! He had caught himself many of times watching his partner in crime as she delicately chiseled the head of Grimlock and not only was she brilliant at enchanting but her attention to detail was beyond exceptional. Their progress was far from complete of course, much work was left to do so with a kind smile Akagi returned to work.

Akagi was passionately still working away at the chiseling and forming of Grimlock, prior to today's work the Prince has given his partner in crime a list of suggestions for strong souls he thought would benefit the upcoming enchanting progress. However he stated to Calanthe that his list were just merely that suggestions that he was actually leaving the soul selections solely upon her, a true compliment towards his trust in her enchanting abilities. The Prince knew she'd pick the best of the best without a second thought.
One of the things Calanthe had a hard time doing was remembering to seperate what she was learning with Akagi and what she was learning with her uncle. She couldn't exactly suggest to the crowned Prince that they use human souls, or what she really wanted, a dyr and dresmondi bonded soul. That probably wasn't her best strategy, so instead she dove deep into readings on what soul had what benefits.
In the end she suggested an oxen soul. It was hearty and strong, and that's exactly what they needed out of Grimlock, passing the prince an entire five-page essay on her thought process.

Akagi spent almost an entire session of their enchanting reading every word of her essay, to say it was brilliant was a gross underestimating because Akagi hadn't read such a piece of work since reading his own brothers work as a child. It reiterated his desire to see this project all the way through! She had brought out that passionate fire in the Prince or maybe just made it brighter. So today Akagi started working the shield and club sword that Grimlock would wield.
While Prince Akagi worked on the stone weapons, Calanthe took a break from the stone work. It was slightly tiresome at times, and turned her attention to the metal work of the linking necklace. Sure, they were far from completion, but she needed a break, and it would need to be done eventually.
It would be an easy way for the stone guardian to know who to protect once linked with the soul gem. It would make the peacekeepers more protected, a good thing with the brewing Dresmond issues. The work was far more enjoyable though, mostly because it was a break from the chiseling, something she would eventually have to return to.
With the necklace done, Calanthe went to finish the stone work. ”Can I do the soul harvesting Prince Akagi?” It was something she loved to do and wanted to always practice. You didn’t often get to with how strict the queen had been of late with who could and couldn’t make things. She was built for better than wall work though, and at least Akagi saw that.

The Prince had finished the stone club and shield, both of which were neither enchanted (yet) but were massive ornate and impressive creations. The club was almost two feet taller than Akagi and Calanthe, the shield went just up to his chin. Both were vastly different in design and concept: weapons were meant to be menacing so that's how the club was made to be intimidating and not pretty. The shield was beautiful and made to show protection it was made of stone and emerald.
As he stepped back to admire his crafting and Calanthe asked her question he smiled brightly, "As long as I can watch!"
Harvesting a soul was a process like no other. Calanthe had been delving deeper into such matters with her uncle, so the soul of an oxen, while strong, was generally easy. Much easier then taking a soul from a human slave, but it would still be an interesting task.
So she pulled the soul, fluid and with the ease of someone who had been doing it for longer than she was alive. Channeling into the soul stone that was a part of the necklace. It was easy, and she made quick work of securing the soul in place. "Ta da!" Smiling at Prince Akagi, she knew they were so close to being done.

Akagi watched, not for critiques or lack of trust, infact it was purely out of intrigue. Calanthe was precise and the motion of control as she pulled and placed the oxen soul was so smooth it gave the Prince the chills.
"Amazing. Simply amazing!" he exclaimed proudly, "so close! Miss Beckett we are so close to bringing Grimlock to life, I will finish the legs of our creature and then...," She'd know what he would say without him saying it. They'd be finished.
Just because some bigger issues had gotten in the way, Calanthe had known they would return to finish the job. She believed it was important to continue enchanting, especially after the attack. Clearly the red-heads were an issue, and she was under no illusion this would be a one-time thing. So finishing their enchantment, their Grimlock, seemed a good start.

It was time to finish it, Akagi was King and work like this (even though he hoped not) was going to be few and far between. They had seemed a wild and odd team to those on the outside looking in but the pair at the center were a true core of power, Akagi and Calanthe stood side by side looking at their impressive form of art: Grimlock.
The King picked the necklace off of the mannequin neck that it rested on presenting it to Calanthe, "If you will please do the honors," if she took the necklace Akagi grabbed the final gem, it was an ember colored stone and it had a faint purple glow to it, stepping up to Grimlock Akagi placed the stone deep in the stone chest where it would rest forever (or if forbid Grimlock was destroyed) and as soon as Akagi stepped back letting go the stone man seemed to shudder to actual life...the shoulders went slack, the legs seemed to bow under the hefty weight it was made of, and it looked between Akagi and Calanthe...waving...
"helllo," Grimlock said quiet jovial, "I'm Grimlock, your defender buddy...how can I be of service?"
Akagi was stunned silent, he could only wait for Calanthe to do...something...anything.
