The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
He had sent someone to tell Rhedara that he was waiting for her in his office. He wanted to get this over with. The man was tired and isn't want to see this horrible little witch, but he did want to be the one to break the news to her. So Aldrich would be waiting for her, ready for whatever would happen.
When/if Rhedara arrived, he would not be offering her a seat like he had done with Torsten. No, Rhedara could simply stand while they talked.

Rhedara had been in the training yard when she got the message that she had been summoned. She took a breath to brace herself. She’d been expecting this meeting since he’d threatened her with it at the ball, but she had been hoping that her presence at the ball would have been forgotten among the other things that had happened. Deciding to just get it over with, she didn’t dawdle and went right to Abbot’s office.
She walked into his office as soon as she was given the go ahead and stood in front of his desk. She didn’t care that a seat was not offered, she did not want to sit in front of this man.

"I did, yes", he said in response to Rhedara's question. He put the tips of his fingers together and leaned his elbows on his desk. He had seen her at the training yard, so he was sure that she had heard the commander's new orders and speech. If she was smart enough, she would already know where this conversation was going.
"Private Shannon, you've not cursed me once, but twice. One of those times, you've come forward and taken responsibility for your actions. You graciously received a second chance, but commander Usher, captain Woodwick and I agree that you've pushed it too far." He paused for a moment to let his words sink in. Even though she hadn't taken responsibility for the curse at the ball, it wasn't too difficult to connect it to her. After all, he had been acting like a rabid dog. Another animal-related curse. Not too creative. "Effective immediately, you're permanently dismissed. I expect you to go to your bunk, pack all your belongings, leave your uniform on your bed and leave the palace, once and for all." He looked her straight in the eye. "You will no longer be welcome at the military wing or places inside the castle that you had been granted access to because of your rank." Aldrich removed his elbows from the desk and leaned back.

She blinked at him. She’d expected him to yap at her as usual, making threats that he ultimately would not act on, or to say again that they’d talk about some mysterious thing she’d done at a later point. Again.
She didn’t know what he meant by twice. So much had happened during the ball, and the curse that she had cast had been such a small, potion-induced, fleeting thought that she really had forgotten that she had done it. She had been too preoccupied with talking to Raff, and then there was sound of snapping bones when the man changed into a wolf before pandemonium hit. The worse thing about the accusation was that he had had no proof which would have bothered her even more had she remembered that she’d cursed him again. It was all conjecture based off of one thing she had done from a single instance of her losing her temper.
She would not take this lying down. But she wouldn’t argue with him. It was pointless. He hated her, and frankly the feeling was mutual. She was no wilting flower or naïve thing that didn’t know her rights. She’d been on her own since e she was sixteen years old and had to learn to defend herself. She was at least going to try to stay in, even if her efforts ultimately failed.
He clearly didn't want to hear her out, or to see if she really would confirm or deny anything. So she said nothing. She did an about-face and exited his office.
