The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Ness perked up at Calanthe actually having an answer for her. Her eyes brightened and her smile widened. She was just about to suggest they go there--immediately, of course--when her pocket started to move. She reached into it and withdrew a glowing green stone that was vibrating incessantly. She raised a finger to her friend, asking to be excused, and stepped away. Placing the stone in her palm, she tapped it. A green image of a woman appeared hovering over the rock.
"Princess. Your mother is looking for you. Where are you?" It was a member of the palace staff. She was older and polished. Ness maintained self control as she answered.
"On a walk with a friend." It was not entirely a lie. "I'll return shortly. Is that all?" The woman looked suspicious but nodded her head. Saying nothing more the green light faded, the woman disappeared, and the rock returned to Ness' pocket. She turned back towards Calanthe.
As Ness answered her call, Calanthe took the time to look around. It was really cool, and she could see why Ness did this all the time. Besides getting to see everything up close and personal, it really was a beautiful view. More educational trips like these were certainly in her future.
Looking up as her friend turned back a mischievous smile spread across her face at the mention of future plans. "Agreed. Maybe a couple months into summer? Things probably plenty hot and open?" Giggling a little she offered her arm to Ness, it was nice to have a partner in crime in these adventures. "We have to go back?"
Ness slapped a hand over her own mouth at Calanthe's mention of hot and open. She didn't really understand it, but she could tell they were still talking about the same thing, and though she played embarrassed right now she'd think about the use of those two words for weeks to come.
"Summer is splendid." She agreed, linking arms with her friend. What was waiting a few months for beings that lived as old as they? No, there was no rush for anything in this lifetime. Not when you were an Arynnite.
"We have to go back." She confirmed, steering them towards the door they'd come through. "My mother is looking for me." They neared the door and when they reached it she would use her key.
"I can hardly wait." Snickering she wasn't sure what they were really getting into, but it sounded fun. Sex was a necessary and interesting aspect of life. And it had to be fun right? Otherwise why would they still be doing it in Arynn Frey, they would have found a much better way.
Sighing she nodded her head, taking one last look before facing home. "Parents can be so boring like that." Really she was just excited for her dad to come home from his trip. As much as she complained about him, he was everything that she tried to be so often. Someone to look up to and emulate, well besides her aunt. And she was counting the days until late spring when he was supposed to be back. "Thanks for pulling me away from my plans, this was far better than a day at the library."
Ness smiled at her friend and nudged her arm with her elbow.
"This was far more productive, too. What good is the knowledge of the books without actualizing it?" That was Ness' personal philosophy, anyway. They reached the door and she turned her key in the hole. When it opened they were looking into a hall in the palace rather than a shoddy little hut.
