The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Recognizing now what to look for, Kester watched Calanthe perform the sign in conjunction with the question as she rose from her crouched position. Tentatively, she copied it herself to the best of her ability, then nodded. Today was fine. As with the other days she had spent in Elyusian, she had nothing else happening, and at least this square had the fountain for when Walnut inevitably lost interest in Calanthe and the seabirds. With a slight tilt of her head, Kester pointed first toward the wall that she had previously been leaning against then back toward the tables arranged near the fountain. The question was evident in her expression: where did Calanthe want to go?
Calanthe looked at the tables, and then over at the wall. Neither seemed like particularly appealing options for teaching a lesson. She wanted this to be something important. Something that Kester would well remember. But she couldn't exactly bring the Dresmondi to the library. That would attract attention to her if the girl and her otter ever went missing. So she'd have to settle for something else...
"Let's go with the table for now, and decide on a more suitable place for learning next time?" She hated to do things halfway, even if it was just this once. But she was committed to the bit now, and she would be the amazing and kind teacher that she had promised to be.
Walking over to the table, Calanthe was glad to use her brain a little for once in a conversation with a Dresmondi. How fun!
Sitting down she started with another, specifically, Kester's name. "Kester."
The table it was. Kester didn’t think it a place particularly unsuited for learning, but she nodded her agreement all the same. She followed Calanthe over to an open table, where they first agreed upon a new meeting location before the lesson began in earnest. The sign for Kester’s name earned the Arynnite a grin, and the Dresmondi repeated it until she could do so accurately. Eager to learn, she was every bit the attentive student to Calanthe’s kind and patient teacher.
