It was such a change in him, how he had approached her to the soldier who now sat there in her house. Ready to almost drag her back to Nevermere if he felt that she was being so careless. Yet now he sat here, ready to leave and give her the peace he thought she might need. One she had sat and thought of often, though usually it was with her sitting at the sea side and staring out of the water, listening to the waves roll against the shore. A sound she should have been able to hear every day had she just gone home... if the moment she had turned Ravin back to himself... if she had just gone home she might have been able to truly focus on what was happening and fix it.
"No, I believe your company is more favorable than being alone right now." She admitted as Ber took the glass and she found a spot once again with her own. Drinking from her cup as if taking a long pull of water after a long day in the sun. It felt like that more often than not now a days. The silence was deafening, only aided by the random crack or pop of the fire until Ber's voice seemed to find traction and questions poured from him. She barely hid the fact that she was relieved that none of them directed back to Ravin.
"I know plenty of them now. My role is to try and help settle Nevermere here. The Cambrian women have not been very thrilled to have us since Isolde took over as their Governess. The previous one, Kore, having passed away. Or so they said," Norah certainly didn't think she had just passed away of natural causes. But she had been so new to the area she hadn't pressed much on it. Not when she had Isolde and her pack of Valkyrie staring her down. "They aren't happy that we have stayed. Even though we are the only reason they broke free from Coheed's grip, they seem to have expected us to just go home and leave them be. When they didn't deliver on their part of the deal."
"And for men... well, they have gotten away from Coheed to get away from men. Some are curious about you all, but a lot are very standoffish when first meeting you. They believe that women are above all. But there are some who are more welcoming, you might actually see a lot of Cambrian and Nevermeran children running around now."
She paused to drink again at the last pair of questions. "Those closest to the current Governess. They call themselves the Valkyrie. Some have come around to being more open and friendly over time. But there are a few who would be more quick to tell you to 'go home' than anything else. Even if it hasn't worked for them to date."
