The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Odina almost didn't want to say, was Norah angry with her?
"It's a silly idea but I need trust and so do they, I thought if I can put my life on the line for it they'd see I want what's best for them that there can be peace and a coexistence," she waved her hand however, "I will avoid it and they don't know our magic that we'll, so what do they really expect if I fake it?"
Norah stared at Odina for a long moment. “It’s not a bad idea, but with the disbelief they already have in us, the mistrust. I am not sure something like that would actually work with many of them.” She turned to look at a window of the home, absentmindedly stroking Deimos’ neck. “Maybe if you can do such a thing with only one… someone held in high regard… trusted. If she’d do it.”
Her eyes had almost glazed over as if she was swirling in a memory, her fingers curling against her palm and brushing that uneven spot on her palm. An ache picked up in her chest before Deimos nudged her and she drew her dark eyes back to Odina. “You both need to bleed for it to happen. It’s a curse, really. And depending on how you word it… how you practice. It could last a life time or just a short period of time. You need to be very specific.” While Odina technically out ranked her, Norah had years of experience over her. Especially in the curse department.

Odina listened so intently and eagerly, almost like a greedy baby at a tit tempted she was to write what Norah was saying down. It made her shift to her left leg, "Could you...teach me? I missed a great deal growing up in Cambria, I could trade you something...anything...to make me a better witch."
Odina’s bright eyes captured Norah with her ask. If there was one thing that called to the old Norah, it was having favors to cash in on whenever she wanted. “We can work out the details later,” she said it easily, making it known she wouldn’t forget but now wasn’t the concern. “But yes, Governess, I’d be honored to help you.” She lifted her chin, as if the confidence in her was what held her up instead of her bones.

"Thank you Norah," Odina looked relieved but she smiled, "Perhaps you could teach me how to be more of a proper lady too? As a little girl all I remember are tea parties and how to be proper among my dolls and little brother," then her smile faded a little as more unpleasant memories stormed to the front...watching her Father be murdered...her carrying little Urion as they scrambled to get him out of Nevermere...her banishment and the boat ride towards Cambria, "I believe he's still alive...and my sisters..."
Norah couldn’t help but study her, how she was every bit Ellis but also knew nothing of her bloodlines. She almost… felt bad for her. And when her smile faded, Norah reached forward and laid a hand against her arm. “Some things are better not said aloud.” Her eyes shining in warning. Because Odina was one thing… but the son… Urion… he was the rightful heir to Nevermere.
“I can teach you whatever you may need, but Governess,” she held her bright gaze, “These things might be done best not in the view of others. If you are trying to hold onto your Cambrian upbringing… seeing such lessons might further stoke the fire than help.”

Norahs hand felt warm against hers and in that warmth Odina felt she could feel the woman's concern, it was nice and for Odina it eased some of the tension in her shoulders.
"Thank you, and yes I agree our lessons should be private," and then Odina would lean toward Norah planting a small kiss on her cheek, "I will forever be in your gratitude for this..."
Good, Odina understood her without having to dive into many words. She squeezed her hand in a little relief before she released the Governess and shifted her weight from one side to the other.
What she had not been ready for was the kiss to her cheek. Such an odd behavior for two Nevermeran women. But here in Cambria? Norah had seen the gesture, ranging wildly in meaning. “Let’s hope you still feel the same when we are done with your first few lessons.” She smiled at her, just a slight curling of her lips.

Odina smiled herself shifting like a smitten kitten, "You'll find out my lady that I have the resolve and determination of a Cambrian, so don't be soft because I might also be a Princess," the tip of her toe tapped the ground, "But I look forward to this, thank you..."
Norah was very very beautiful and Odina would be lying if she said she wasn't attracted. She'd bed her in time and with consent.
Norah had a few things now to add to her ever growing list. Her chin dipped, and Deimos would linger to watch her back. A habit, that he did with almost every single person, that he would not break. The two exiting and Norah already trying to run through her thoughts on Odina’s first lessons, and how she’d sculpt her into the best princess-governess that she could be.
