The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Helena felt as if they had gone about as far as they could right now. She didn't know how much, if anything, Annabeth would take onboard. She wasn't a Kane, hadn't been raised as one. The old woman's arrogance made her think that had she been so, they would have been able to iron out the many faults which she suffered from. As it was, they could only hope that she would manage to sort herself out with some time and effort. Of course, there would be the question of just how much the Kane family continued to interfere where she was concerned, after all, the one person who tied them together was gone now.
It sounded as if Annabeth wanted to go free now. Understandable, she would undoubtedly need some time to pull herself together and make sense of everything. "If you need anything, you'll find that many here are willing to listen." Was all that the elder still had to offer. Now, she would need some time to try to heal herself.
Ring of Charisma - This ring will give the wearer when twisted around three times a boost of confidence and listeners to be compelled to believe and trust her.
The Mirror of Sight- will be able to locate and see where a person is doing, by say their full name.

Annabeth was trying so hard to iron out her faults, she was too good, too kind, easily walked on, and had no self-confidence. She has no self-worth. Astor was all that she has in terms of family, all that she had to talk to and now he is forever gone from her life. When Helena said that people here are willing to listen, she barely talked to the other staff unless what was needed for work. She made the mistake of mixing emotions and work up before and she doesn't want to make the same mistake twice.
"Thank you, Marchioness Kane," said Annabeth, her voice barely above a whisper. She felt a lump form in her throat as she tried to hold back her tears. She knew she needed to be strong, to keep her emotions in check.
As the meeting came to a close, Annabeth gathered her things and headed for the door. She couldn't bear to be in the same room any longer. She needed to find a suitable black dress to wear. It had to be perfect as if she was paying tribute to the man who had meant so much to her. She wanted to show her respect and say goodbye in the best way possible.
Once she found the dress, Annabeth knew she would have to put on a brave face. She couldn't let anyone see how much Astor's death was affecting her. She had to be professional, to carry on with her work as if nothing had happened. But inside, she was hurting. She couldn't let anyone see or hear her cry. She had to be strong, for herself and for Astor.
