The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Change in how times flows. Was 4 IC seasons, now only 2 IC seasons per 1 OOC year.
5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

What could she possibly want if him now? Nonetheless, Aldrich nodded at her request to ask something, pushing back the dad-joke with a mean twist that was ready to leave his lips ("you already asked if you could ask something, which was a question, so no").
Banana bread? He remembered that she loved baked goods. Her question teleported him back to the time they spoke in that tavern. He almost felt bad about how stern he had been since then. Almost. But he decided to not be a massive dick. "I'd like one, yes", he said. His body language became a bit more approachable and kind, but not too much! He was still Aldrich after all. "We can take a break to have a little something to eat."

When he said he would like one she hold back a smile but a smile was poking out slightly. She does hope that he does see that she is trying to take in everything he is telling her. She always brings something to snack on, especially with summon training as it sometimes take out more energy then she like. It also depends on the size of the offering thankfully this one was a small offering so she haven't lost much blood.
She took out two slices of banana loaf out, as she approached Aldrich, when she got to an acceptable distance she offered the slice to him. "Here you go, sir."

He pretended not to see the smile she tried to hide, for two reasons. He didn't want to talk about it, because he didn't want to have a talk about how she wasn't all that bad, and secondly he didn't want to embarrass her. Contrary to popular believe, he didn't like to see his soldiers sad and depressed. He was glad that Zarha was able to smile, and it also seemed like she enjoyed Coheed.
Aldrich sat down on a tree trunk and looked up at Zarha when she offered him the slice of banana bread. "Thanks", he said, sitting back a bit in a relaxed way. He took a bite of the bread and held a hand up in front of his mouth while chewing. When his mouth was almost empty, he spoke again. "How are you likin' Coheed?"

"no problem Sir." was a simple reply as Abbott thanked her. As Zarha moved to a tree trunk nearby and sat down, taking a bite of the breed, she relaxed as she enjoyed the taste. When Abbott asked how she was finding Coheed. Thinking a bit about how she was finding it. "This place has grown on me. At first, I did treat it as another task. Now, it still works but strangely it doesn't feel like work. The locals are nice well most of them that I've mat."

"That's good to hear", he responded before taking another bite. "Coheed's... Good. I guess. It would've been weird for you here a few years ago." He didn't remember exactly when the Parabolti became a thing, but it was probably less than a decade ago. Zarha was only 19 though, so she would've been too young to come to Coheed anyway. "The women have only recently gotten permission to be warriors." He looked at her. "Can you imagine you wouldn't have been allowed to be a soldier if you lived here?" He chuckled. He couldn't imagine Zarha doing anything that wasn't military related.

Zarha looked at Abbott as he talked about Coheed about what it was like at one point. He gave a soft laugh at his last comment. "Me? not being allowed to be a Soldier? Now that's impossible." This time Zarha wasn't hiding her smile from Aldrich. She remembers he talks with Kaalim and other residents here there are still some things that she finds strange. She wouldn't know what she would do if she wasn't allowed to be a soldier as it was her passion, her life.
She does hope that the woman here have found some sense of freedom and helped build a relationship that they have. "I can see why Kaalim wanted to start this, if i remember right he said 'Women warriors, women leaders, and equal women.' can see why he was chief."

He nodded a bit. "Kaalim was a great chieftain." Kaalim had set things in motion, he had created a capital and had given the women more opportunities. "The women still have a long way to go, but so do you with those wings. Training is never ending and never complete, but you know that." You didn't ever fully become a soldier. You had to keep training and adapting to new information, new techniques and new enemies.

There was a soft smile she wasn't even going to try to hide the smile. For her time with him he still really cared about the people of Coheed, he wanted to give his children a future that they could be proud of.
Her eyes stayed on Aldrich as he spoke, "Yeah, we both know that I know that training never stops." She laughs softly but it was a laugh at her ability of wanting to train too much. However, there a part of her that is still struggling to make friends in her squad, and to interact on a personal level. For some reason she can interact with her superiors better than the people she is meant to grow with. She doesn't know where she feel at ease with people who have authority over her.
"For the record, I couldn't ask for a better person to help me train my wings." it was a bit between actually training of the wings and a metaphor of her being more social.

He was a bit surprised to hear that. He looked up at her, still munching away, and nodded. "Well, I appreciate that, but perhaps a witch would have been a bit more useful", he said with a soft chuckle. "I won't ever be able to understand your magic the way the women do, but I'll try."
He continued to eat until the bread was gone before he addressed Zarha again. "I need you to do something for me, and I need you to do it discreetly." He paused to see if she'd respond or not. "I told Kasper he couldn't return to Nevermere, but the captain commander overruled my orders and let the kid go home. No hard feelings there, don't get me wrong, but I think Kasper does hold a grudge against me for it. Keep an ear out. I don't want you to interrogate him or anything like that, but let me know if you hear or see him undermine my authority."
He knew Kasper wasn't happy about him replacing Faylin, and that the young man would have liked the promotion himself.

There was a soft laugh when Zarha heard Aldrich laugh. munching on what was left of her piece of banana bread as she looked towards him. "Magic is indeed confusing at times sir. However, I don't think even a witch be able to push me the way you do sir. I know at times I don't act like i appreciate your wisdom, and sometimes I feel like you hate me, but I still respect you. Zarha look down to the ground and takes a deep breath,
When he asked her to do something for him in regards to Kasper, there was a softness as she looked towards Aldrich as she tries to reed him. Get a sense of why he was asking her. It going to be tricky because Kasper was also her superior, and she of course respected him as a private would. But it not the same respect she had with Aldrich, she respected him because he pushed her to do better, not just as a solider but as a person and she know he want her to be/do better.
