The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!
Arynnite armor: The armor have two states: active and inactive. When inactive, they look like little more than ornate metal bracers, easily ignored. When triggered, the armor covers Tybalt and serves as an exoskeleton. It will protect its wearer from physical damage and is practically indestructible.
The armor has a certain "preprogrammed" purpose which is to protect its host. To do so, it reacts to heightened emotional states such as fear and anger, at which point the armor will trigger regardless of whether or not Tybalt wants it to or even if he's immediately aware of the threat. It has some degree of awareness and sentience although very basic and one which struggles to differentiate between enemies and friends. Whilst not actually in possession of a will, the armor can guide or direct its host in a specific action, much like a reflex.
The armor needs to be "fed" as Tybalt has discovered meaning that he must hold and absorb through touch certain metals such as steel, copper, iron and tin, a process which takes a few minutes. Without which, the armor will begin to weaken and become less effective until no longer able to manifest.
Perhaps its greatest weakness is that if being consistently bashed or beaten, it would begin to repair itself by using parts of the armor from elsewhere. For instance, if the wearer is being consistently hit in the chest, the armor will begin to pool away from other parts of their body such as the feet and hands, leaving them vulnerable.

Tybalt listened to Sina's words carefully. It was a poetic way of putting things he supposed, but one which he happened to agree with. "Well said." The commander would answer.
When they stepped outside, Tybalt had something of a revelation. His sensitive ears could pick up on a training exercise in the courtyard not all that far away. Sina would likely only be able to pick up on maybe some distant shouting, as the drill master gave their orders, but to the commander it might as well have been going on right next to him. He would begin to drift that way.
Upon hearing her apologies, the man raised a hand. "You needn't worry about any of that. You were upset, and weren't yourself." Tybalt couldn't begrudge her that much given the circumstances. "Besides-" He would move to make light of the situation. "I've overindulged a few times myself in the past."

When Tybalt said well said, there was a soft smile. She heard some noise coming from the training yard sounding like what could be shouting. Sina takes a deep breath, she not one for shouting however, she can't be scared. She has to be strong however, she carried on walking because she promised Tybalt that she helped her to look for his son.
When Tybalt was about to said that she wanted to say she needed to, maybe not for him, but mostly for herself. However, she was shocked a bit when he explained that he overindulged a few time, there was a small laugh. "I hope you don't take this the wrong way sir, but you? Overindulged?"

In response to Ikisina's amusement, Tybalt offered only an unapologetic shrug. It was a commoner's gesture which he had picked up from his Men. He used it in his unguarded moments. Had his mother been anywhere nearby, the elder would no doubt have given her a tap of her cane. She wasn't here though, and so he breathed more easily for it. "I was a soldier for many years. One with rank, and title, but a soldier all the same. I enjoyed my fair share of nights by a campfire, or celebrations in the tavern."
That felt like another life ago now.
As they arrived in the courtyard, where the royal guard were training, their former captain would come to a pause. He folded his arms, glancing around. Surely Tobey had to be somewhere nearby. Either that or he was going to have to admit to having lost the lad...

listening to how Tybalt was back when he was younger made Sina joyful, even though she felt a bit closed off still. A part of her still wants to learn self defence. maybe one day she will learn how to use her fist more then what Dresden taught her. "I think as we grow as a person we change for the best even though sometimes it doesn't seem like it."
When they got to the training yard Sina looked around as she did she noticed a little boy looks like it could be Tobey's age looking at the group training as he is hiding. Sina whispered to the commander "I think I can spot him." She smiled as she softly point in the boys direction. Carefully moving to the boy direction and she got to his direction. Kneeling down so she was more his level. "You very good at hiding soldier."

The commander nodded in agreement to Ikisina's statement. Tybalt knew that if he met himself from twenty years ago, they would most certainly have had quite an interesting discussion with himself. He'd been younger, more carefree, and reckless. With everything that went along with it.
The commander let out a heavy sigh of relief, at the sight of his son. Yes, it was him. Relief outweighed any anger that he might have felt. As Ikisina approached, she would discover that Tobey was fearless. It wasn't necessarily the bravery, insofar as the lad seemed to be genuinely oblivious to both danger, and social situations which might have required a mixture of tact, and self-discipline. His parents were working on it. He might get somewhere before the age of twenty... They hoped... The boy didn't shy away, if anything he owned his act of disobedience with an innocent smile. "I just wanted to see the guard..." He excused himself, giving his father a brief glance. "You could just have asked..." Tybalt shook his head exasperatedly. "We will discuss this later." He would turn towards Ikisina. "Thank you for your assistance Miss Navarro."
