The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Ravin snickered, liking Kat’s direct style more by the minute. “I can give you the gist,” He said, smiling with vague amusement, “Mainly because there are a few details I have yet to work out and I don’t want to say anything I’ll have to retract later.” Ravin put down his glass, going to the wall and pulling down a painting that hung there. He brought it to the table, laying it down for Kat to see. It was the Wendigo, the same painting that he’d show Kasper later on. There was a more complicated story behind the painting, but not one that Kat would need to know for the purposes of this job.
“This is what we’re after. What I have is just a replica of the original; it’s the real painting that I need,” Ravin let Kat look at it, leaning back in his chair. “It’s extremely valuable, not in terms of coin but in terms of power. It’s my hope and suspicion that the owners don’t know its true nature, which should make our job much easier.”

Katerina wasn't sure if she liked her potential boss had a half-baked plan. He didn't seem like the type to go into things without one though. Maybe it just meant it was a little far away though, which was fine with Kat. More time to come up with excuses for her boss. "I assume you'll have it figured out by mission time then? It'd be quite a disappointing introduction to your plans otherwise."
Peering at the painting Ravin displayed it looked interesting enough. Personally she didn't care much about art but clearly this was very important to the brother owner. And importance meant good pay, so her smile widened again. "We going to swap out this fake then?" If the owner truly didn't understand the painting it should barely go noticed, and when it did they would have been long gone. Then again sneaking in an entire painting in and then another out might have been difficult.

“I like to know what talent I’m working with first before I set things in stone,” Ravin tilted his head, observing her with interest, “Best laid plans mean nothing if you don’t have the mind and muscle to pull it off.”
He shrugged before removing the painting once more, standing to put it back in its rightful place. “If they know the painting’s true value, they won’t be fooled by a fake. If they’re ignorant to it, then they won’t be terribly bothered when they realize it’s gone. She’s got quite the collection, and mistakes do happen.” While this wasn’t the real thing, even this one held sentimental value and would be difficult to part with. Real and fake, the Wendigo was something he just couldn’t shake.
“So,” Ravin turned back to her one eyebrow raised in a challenge, “Does this mean I can mark you down as interested at least?”

Katerina had walked into the office ready to threaten the brothel owner if necessary, but she found it a little pointless. Apparently holding back her dagger was a good idea on occasion. Who knew. "Well I suppose you found the right set of twins then."
Ravin was already smart with his planning, something she appreciated. Of course some of this still seemed like speculation, there was still time to figure it out. "Mhmm makes sense." Looking at the painting hanging on the wall she thought it was interesting but still didn't see the fuss.
A job was a job though, and if Kasper thought the pay was worth their time she was sure it would be fine. "Interested, pending Kasper's choice of course." If her boss ever caught a whiff she might have been in a spot of trouble, but nothing she couldn't handle.
