Warning! These characters will be in direct opposition to the most magically aggressive and domineering characters on the site. The chances of these characters getting abused, hurt, maimed, or even killed are much higher than average. If this seems up your alley, then without further ado...
The Black Claw
It has been five years since the Eldouirs swept across Dresmond, terrorizing every caravan they came across and forcing the Dresmondi to surrender, lest they lose the life of their dyr. While many surrendered to the family, still many others fled Dresmond and created new, rogue caravans in other kingdoms. Within these rogue caravans there was much talk of one day returning to take back their home, but not a lot of action.
After a few years, one Dresmondi finally had enough of the inaction and left his caravan to return home, slipping into the new city created by the Eldouirs. Over the past two years, he has spent time secretly gathering a group of individuals to help him begin overthrowing the rule of the Eldouirs.
Updates: In Aestas 827, Zevran was convinced to travel to Nevermere to seek their aid against the Eldouir. Since he has been gone, Embric (the previous Hood), has been killed by the Eldouirs and Luka (the previous Tome) found her way into the Eldouir's estate but has not been heard from in some time.
Kezia, not an official member of the group but important none-the-less, traveled to Nevermere with Zevran but returned to Arynn Frey instead to speak with the caravans who found refuge there.
This group is meant to be a rag tag bunch of individuals. No FOI or any specific characteristics that tie them together other than the desire to see the end of Eldouir rule in Dresmond. My character, Zevran, is the Dresmondi who has returned from his rogue caravan to start drumming up the rebellion.
They will just be starting their attempts right after the time jump, beginning with guerilla warfare tactics while they are a small group. This means sabotaging weapons and armor, stealing food supplies to specifically distribute it to poor Dresmondi, anything to weaken their hold over Dresmond. Eventually, I would like to work up to the group sending word for the rogue caravans to return home and further assist them with bigger, more brazen attacks.
While my character may be seen as the overall “leader,” I am hoping to gather a group of characters with varying skill sets that they are all able to have equal input with. This includes information gatherers, tactical mindsets, aggressive and defensive mindsets, healers, diplomats, etc. Named positions within the group:
- The Mask: The leader, usually only meets face-to-face with the named positions below (Zevran played by Siren )
- The Glove: Very social and likeable, in charge of quietly finding new recruits
- The Blade: Tactical, combat experienced, in charge of coordinating and leading attacks
- The Cloak: Quiet, unassuming, in charge of gathering intel across the city (Embric played by Nix )
- The Hood: Friendly, convincing. Takes stolen goods and distributes them among the poor
- The Tome: Somehow involved with the Eldouirs, able to track the outcomes and consequences of the groups actions
Most of the above positions have had characters in them previously at this point, and may not be able to be retconned. If you're interested, please reach out to me so we can discuss the ins and outs of each!
The group will ALWAYS use their dyrs to communicate silently. This ensures no one can overhear their conversations and that no pieces of paper can be stolen or lost.
It will be understood that getting caught in any way means they are automatically severed from the group. The group doesn’t know them, and they don’t know the group. One can never tell what type of punishment the Eldouirs feel like handing out on a day to day basis, but one can be assured it will either be death or torture.
Anyone found to be doubting the cause will be handled in much the same way as if they were caught. There is no room for second guesses.
