{ONE SHOT}
Conall had spent the day after his meeting with his siblings on horseback, along with Rosamere, traveling along the farms that bordered their lands, finding out what was available and what was not, and what would be coming up soon. He wanted to get Rosa out of the house for a bit after the fiasco with the meeting, hoping to clear whatever air he could between them. Now he knew who and what happened after the masquerade and now, she knew some of his deeper darker secrets. He and Rosa would both choose one of the farms that were available for their brother, that way they had both of their opinions and the property would not just be chosen by Conall as his tastes would vary drastically from Liono’s. Rosamere knew Liono better and she most definitely knew the newest Morrigan better than he did, so he expected that she would have at least a little better idea of what they would want.
In all they had found 5 small farms with land and Rosa and Conall agreed that 3 of them were to small in the long run. They had enough land to be useful, but the homes themselves were barely big enough as it was, not to mention if Quen’s siblings came to stay, or Rosa wanted to stay there, or if Quen and Lio opted to start a family right away. Conall knew Liono was not opposed to a home that he would need to do some work on to make it his own, but Conall and Rosa agreed that building an entire new home would be too much for the newlyweds right off the bat, and they both wanted them to be as comfortable as possible as quickly as possible.
So that left 2 farms, one with what Conall considered to be too little land to be worth it and the other, a bit more than Conall had thought to spend. Not that he did not have the funds, he just knew Lio did not want him spending too much, that was just Liono’s way, but the investment was worth the extra and Conall and Rosamere had agreed it was worth it. The home itself was large enough to be comfortable, the land expansive enough to raise a moderate herd of horses as well as have some other livestock or to grow their own food, if they so chose and the barn was large enough for half a dozen head of horses. Nothing that would work forever once they really got into the flow of things, but it was a decent start.
The barn needed some tender loving care, the house itself as well could use a bit of care, but nothing that would prevent them from moving in quickly and living comfortably. All just minor things that would make it look better, all things Conall had no doubt Liono would be able to handle easily, plus it would give him and Quenya a chance to put their own touches on the place. There were enough rooms for a few guests should they have guests over and there was a small, 1 room guest quarters as well which had a very small kitchen and fireplace and room really only for a bed, but it was a nice place if someone needed privacy… or if his little brother got in trouble and found himself in the proverbial “doghouse.”
Conall had brought a chunk of money with him, though not enough to pay for the place in full so he would have to return, but what he had offered would be sufficient to guarantee ownership now belonged to one Liono and Quenya Morrigan. Rosamere had seemed to enjoy herself on their adventure and as it came to an end he felt better about where they stood, though there seemed to be something bothering her, something she was not yet disclosing and he did not push for her to tell him, she would when it was time, he knew that much. He dropped her off at her cottage before heading home, tending to the steed which had been their transportation for the day and heading up to his quarters. Once he slipped into his study he slid the deed into an envelope with the remainder of the funds and hid the package away to give to Liono when they arrived home. He hadn’t run this by his father, he hadn’t used even a cent of his fathers money for this so this home, was 100% Liono’s.
