The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Regan muttered something under her breath as Kat started to laugh, though the words were unintelligible - even to herself. “Apparently too trashed for Apollo to fuck,” Regan said grumpily, now trying to balance speed with not falling flat on her face, “So you can him, next time I’m gonna expec-” Regan slipped, falling the last couple stairs to the bottom and landing on her rear. She huffed, sitting for a minute, waiting for the world to stop spinning so she could get up again. A few stray tears slipped down her cheeks. Turning her head she brushed them away, still grumbling as she pushed herself back up.

Katerina wondered how much of the garbage Regan was talking she would remember, especially since she was just declaring things that someone who wanted to fly under the radar certainly wouldn't. Not her problem though, until it was. Seeing it far too late to do anything Kat watched as Regan bumped down the last few steps. Letting out a sigh and fixing her with a look of disappointment. "Well if you can't walk he probably had the right idea." She offered the woman a hand, unsure if she'd even take it, but really not wanted to see her end up back on the floor again.

Regan started muttering again, though clearly not saying much of anything at all. She hesitated before taking Kat’s hand, staring as if it would turn into a snake and take off her fingers. But she eventually decided it was the only way she was actually going to get standing again. “Thanks,” Regan mumbled, brushing another drunken tear from her face as she pulled her hood lower, “I guess I’ll be going now. Sorry for all the trouble.” There was a weird air of sincerity to her last sentence. Clearly the sorry was for far more than her little trip down the stairs or display of drunken childishness. It was just…a blanket apology. For everything. For what she was. And that Kat had been hurt by it.
Unless Kat had anything else, Regan would turn towards the exit. She knew the way out, and there was a cold, empty bed waiting for her on the other end of the street.

It was times like these that Katerina wished she wasn't pregnant. For one it would make her life so much easier. But really the fact that getting absolutely shit-faced was off the table wasn't fair. The woman crying on the ground had managed to have the strength to say no, but her husband hadn't. "Don't mention it. Seriously though, don't." Kat could tell that the apology was real, even if she didn't really want one.
Watching the woman go she would wait until she was out the door before following to make sure she didn't fall as soon as she hit the street. Satisfied she went back to work. Katerina had no plans on returning home to Fabian that night, staying with her siblings for the next three nights while she worked things out in her head. Under the guise of missing them dearly of course, which was mostly true, but she continued to keep Fabian's mistakes to herself. She would mull Regan's words over and over again in her head, alone until she wasn't thinking about stabbing her husband the second she saw him.
