The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

Stormview Ridge, Keelan hadn't stepped into the large beautiful yet intimidating home for at least a year his excuse was always work and truthfully though it was because of work. He'd put to much time and dedication cutting through the competition of the shipping merchant classes. However he was standing in the foyer as a butler went to fetch Conall Morrigan the one person in the family he felt closest with, which made sense as Conalls father, Uncle Adder, had raised Keelan and his brother after the deaths of his parents.
Perhaps that was another reason, Keelan didn't care for the revenge instilled within his Uncle. He did care about making the Morrigan name solid and respected in Nevermere plus money and power came from his path. The evidence of that came from not squandering his inheritance but investing it into his name, a solid choice after all of his current success.

Things had gone mostly back to normal at least in so much as he was back into his study and working without constantly hearing about what he’d done. Liono made a great addition to his daily routine and had picked up on most of it exceptionally well. Conall had left Liono out of some of the dirtier side of his work, mainly because the ideal that had been working with Logan Delaney had fizzled, as did much of his steps towards working to remove Cassian from the throne. He knew who he thanked for that, personally… but it mattered not one way or another as this was now, where things were for him.
When a knock broke the silence of his study he could not help but flinch slightly, his eyes narrowing dangerously for a moment before he stood. ”Come in” he said sharply. He knew Nerilla would not be calling while he was working, hell, she would be working as well so he was cautious as he waited for the door to open. A butler walked in and announced that Keelan was here to see him and a bright smile spread across Conall’s face as he walked around the desk and patted the butler on the shoulder. ”Good man” he said as he headed out the door to go see his cousin.
He wore a deep gray suit and he fixed his sleeves as he walked, unrolling them to clean up his appearance, though he knew Keelan could give a shit about how he looked. As he turned the corner Keelan came into view and he smiled. ”Cousin it is great to see you!” he said in a jovial tone as he narrowed the distance between Keelan and himself, wrapping his arms around his cousin’s chest and patting him on the back as he hugged him.
”To what do I owe the honor cousin?! We do not see you here often!”

Oh, yes, hugs. Keelan returned the sentiment with a light pat around Conalls waist, "good to see you too Con," Con was what Keelan called his cousin since he was a teenager, the man was someone Kee respected fully and looked up to him, "yeah well it looks like I will be on land for a while, just wanted to see you."
Of course that was code, his blue eyes were now looking around the room for extra ears, "how have things been? you need anything?"

Keelan was a great kid… kid… he was only 3 years younger than Conall but Conall still saw him as his kid best friend and he grinned slightly as he stepped back, looking at him. ”Good man, it will be nice to have your feet on the ground for a bit I bet?” He laughed slightly, knowing Keelan loved the seas, it was one of the reasons they worked so well together now that they were grown. Conall wasn’t such a fan of not having his feet on the ground and Keelan was. Keelan could travel and learn things from afar while Conall handled things near.
Conall moved back to his seat behind his desk as he pondered the question of how things had been. He leaned back into the chair as he spoke ”Things have been as well as can be expected, all things considered. Thankfully quiet and since I have gotten married most of the whisper’s have stopped. Still always very cautious however.” He considered if there was anything he needed and he shook his head. ”To be quite honest I can not think of anything right now. Having been in the spotlight for a short while, much of my ideas have been put on the back burner for the unforeseeable future. So for the time being, I have just been watching, waiting. How have you been Keelan?”

Keelan grunted and shoved his hands into his pockets, he noted the comment about Conall having to put his plans on the back burner. He motioned for Conall to follow, even though this wasn't his home home Keelan felt he could make himself at home here when he was there so he was making for the nearest liquor table. If Conall followed Kee would answer him, "I've mostly been focusing on how to deal with these damn Coheedains I have to work with unloading shipments, their brutes and I'm surprised we've managed to build them anything. But here, some of these families scrambling to pull my routes out from under it's tedious. I'm resilient though," he poured two glasses and then produced a pipe and a velvet bag of tobacco, "with your plans in the metaphorical back burner you should come with me sometime, see some of the world Con."

Conall chuckled inwardly at Keelan’s grunt of acknowledgement at Conall’s resignation of his plans. Keelan knew the bits and pieces of what had happened that got him in such a pickle 5 years ago and Keelan also knew what kind of man Conall was and his opinion on what he’d done. Keelan and Liono were two of the few that truly knew Conall’s thoughts on it. Keelen motioned to him to follow and Conall stood once more, closing a book that was open on his desk, dropping it into a drawer and locking the drawer before slipping the key into his hiding spot, one Keelan and Liono only would know of should they need access to anything he had stored away.
He folded his arms behind his back as he and Keelan walked, he eyed Keelan as he mentioned the Coheedains and their brutish men. Conall hmm’d, the sound almost not audible as their footfalls echoed in the halls. Then he mentioned families in Nevermere trying to undermine him, trying to pull his routes from under his nose and a slight growl emitted from his mouth as his eyes narrowed faintly. He would have to look into this on his end for Keelan. Then Keelan mentioned them traveling together and Conall grinned slightly. ”With a new wife at home…I would have to run it by her. She is not yet with child and she still works though I have often told her she did not need to, she prefers it though. So now, before she has a child might be the perfect time. Liono could keep things going here in my absence…”
He was really considering it. He could use to get out before he was permanently stuck here with a growing family.

Keelan sipped his whiskey and listened to Conall adding on when the man trailer off, "Sounds smart, don't piss off the misses a happy wife is a happy life," Keelan grunted with a smirk, "I'm lucky to not have such earthly ties," of course he wouldn't mention his recent romantic pursuit of one Regan Lassiter, "however I do need a knot in a line pulled for me, I need into the King's graces or someone in a spot to set this up to secure my spot, our families stake, in this shipping business with Coheed. If I can get that audience I can plead my case in why my ships and crew are more than capable of handling this...can you do that? Can you think of anyone?"

”Well I am sure you will have that tie soon enough cousin, especially if you keep your feet on the ground for a few moments. Unless you are seeking women of the sea, you have to hang around here to get in their good graces.” he laughed slightly though the laughter was cut off when Keelan mentioned needing to get himself in with someone who could help him sort out the shipping issues with Coheed. Conall rubbed his chin slightly as he pondered who they could talk to.
”There is my father of course, I could attempt to seek out audience with Cassian himself, though honestly after you know what, I am unsure where I stand with him.” he grumbled slightly. He’d kept as low of a profile as he possibly could, that included just over all staying out of the way and out of sight and mind. He turned charcoal eyes back to Keelan. ”We can go see Dad… Maybe he will have the best suggestions for us.”

Keelan pondered his cousins options, an approving grunt for King Cassian and a warranted hesitant grunt. A meeting with the King while it sounded beneficial and directly to the point but with Conall's past and minor discrepancies perhaps it would be best to hold off on a audience with the King.
He downed his glass of liquor and poured another, "Let's go talk to Uncle Adder than?"
