The peace that formerly reigned in Terra Nova has eroded, now little more than a memory. War ravages the continent. Disputes divide kingdoms; ideals divide families. The quest for power consumes absolutely and indiscriminately. None are immune to its allure.
Who will rise and who will fall? Only time—and ambition—will tell.

5 whole years of Heir Apparent goodness! When I started the site, I knew I was hunkering down for the long haul, but I never could have predicted the numerous twists and turns this roleplay site has seen. Hundreds of plots, characters, and members have come and gone, all leaving marks on the site. I am so very thankful for those who have invested. Because you keep coming back, keep getting on, and keep writing, Heir Apparent has the legacy it does today. Three cheers to us!

Ophelia didn’t see Akagi’s hurt. Perhaps she felt it, a stabbing needle, but amid all the other pain she couldn’t separate it from her own. Akagi’s smile wasn't enough. The use of her full name added to the pile of insecurity that was already closing in. It didn’t matter what Akagi intended. Ophelia’s brain, twisted by whatever anxiety plagued her, had heard what it wanted to hear. Akagi kissed her on the cheek and started to slip away. Panic gripped her, and her fingers started to tremble.
“You’re leaving? Now?” Ophelia tended toward hysteria rather than displays of anger. She could feel the hot tears starting to gather behind her eyes. “Fine. Go.” She said, stepping back and turning away.
Shrine Magic
Akagi wields a saga enchanted naginata, that when touched allows the wielder to cast bright red orbs that explode on contact. Akagi can cast single orbs or produce up to four orbs in a powerup to cast at once for a bigger explosion.

Akagi had stopped, turning to reply when her short response cut off any form of rebuttal. Then she turned away from him, he hadn't saw the tears swelling in her eyes, he could hear the hurt and now they both were hurting. With a heavy sigh Akagi left, he had never dealt with rejection or anyone truly being mad with him. He wished he had saw the tears and the pain, felt the tremble of her hands because Akagi would have stayed. And he would have worked through this but he hadn't and didn't know... Just felt the incredible sadness shared between them.
He left, head hung low. Heart hurting with every beat.
